Where do you get your 26" bands from?

Having really enjoyed splashing out on some proper bras last year, they sadly no longer fit, or rather, there is less of me to fit them.

BoB say I need a 26FF, but apart from a few Katherine Hamilton for WELL over £100, I can only see one from Ewa Michalak that seems to be padded, which I'm not after.

There are bazillions of women smaller than me, so where do you find your non-padded, non-mortgage-needing, 26FFs?

Why not go for a sister size to make it easier and cheaper? Not much point splashing out on bras if you change shape often...

AthelstaneTheUnready · 06/03/2022 18:49

Sister size? Off to google...

I see, that's not ideal but it may have to do.

26's must be being sold somewhere fairly reasonable though, surely?

You don’t need to go for that size.

These are rhe sister sizes that you should be fine with.

26FF
28F
30E
32DD
34D
36C
38B
40A
42AA

Seemed odd at first sight, but I just read the theory!

As that's the cumulative range, I guess I'm going for the ones either side, in this case, 28F?

(still hanging out for someone to link to a site that does...) Grin

Boux avenue are known to be tight in the band, so might be a good idea to try them in a 28f! I wouldn't go for a bigger band than a 28 though as the majority of the support comes From the band.

gunnersgold · 06/03/2022 19:26

I measure 28 f but can't tolerate the band that tight , have you tried it ? I'd go up a band size and down a cup size which is what I do so 30/32 f instead of 28 g

gogohm · 06/03/2022 19:33

Dc has 30b and she's a borderline eating disorder skinny rake, can't imagine you are really 26 unless you also are like her

FourCandelabras · 06/03/2022 19:35

Bravissimo is the answer!

Ooh, ta, that's a useful tip, will check them out. Agree, a loose band is useless - when I finally binned my oldest, comfiest, bra, it turned out the band was so loose it wasn't in fact doing anything other than providing an extra layer of clothing insulation draped over the top.

FourCandelabras · 06/03/2022 19:37

Posted too soon! Not sure if they go down to a 26, but I’m sure they do 28, and big cup sizes too.

I have 30s at the moment, and they're a bit loose on the smallest hook, and not because I've washed the feck out them either. I do measure a tight 26, normal 27, so I think 28 is probably pushing my luck as far as I should go.

I assure you I am not Grin.

I have a small frame/ribs, that's all. It has been noticeably larger in the past, but that was flab, and since I've been exercising a bit more (i.e. more than none) I have sturdier boobs but sitting on a slimmer ribcage.

They don't, sadly.

I do really like my Freya 30s, so it looks like the best bet is going to be a 28E, according to their advice.

Would rather have my actual size though.

I can recommend Boux Avenue. I definitely have to go up a band size with 5hem. Service and quality is good for the price.

SchoolFraud · 06/03/2022 20:16

Try BraStop as well. I've got 28s from there but not sure about 26s.

ladyinthecampervan · 06/03/2022 20:22

Bravissimo for 28F. Panache come up a bit small IMO so maybe try one of those.

Also, in response to a previous poster I’m a 28G, 5’9” 63kg grown woman. Just very hourglass shaped with small ribs and wide hips. I can eat for England Grin

BlackCoffeeInAPoolOfSunshine · 06/03/2022 20:23

Panache do 28 F too - 26 as you say is hard to find - it equates to a UK dress size 4.

ruthieness · 06/03/2022 20:32

Marks and Spenser have some 28 inch band sizes -
they seem to come up small
