what's your go to foundation?

I used to be a big fan of makeup before my son was born, but since then I don't have the time (or perhaps want) to sit trying to perfect my face.

I'm looking for suggestions on foundation based on how easy it is to apply, and a natural finish but still with some coverage. For reference I am quite pale skinned with pink undertoneSmile

The hourglass stick one with the flat end brush. Literally seconds to apply.

soberfabulous · 05/03/2022 18:37

Max factor radiant lift. I put a pump of it into Clarins Beauty flash balm and rub it onto my face - could use a brush but honestly can't be bothered. It's an instant face lift and glow. Works equally well over regular moisturizer too.

Really well priced too. I used to use the YSL touché eclat but changed to this and have re bought it so many times.

For day time I like nars natural radiant long wear foundation or nabla skin realist tinted balm. For evening I always go back to Estée Lauder double wear.

Thejugglestruggle · 05/03/2022 18:52

IT cosmetics cc cream or NARS sheer glow in the day. Giorgio Armani luminous silk for evenings.

GreMay1 · 05/03/2022 18:53

Elizabeth Arden

MagicMatilda · 05/03/2022 18:55

Trinny London Rebalance

DedalusBloom · 05/03/2022 18:59

NARS Sheer Glow
No7 Hydraluminous
Armani Luminous Silk
Chantecaille Future skin
Suqqu cream foundation

These are the ones I have on permanent rotation.

Max Factor Miracle Touch Second Skin or L'Oreal Skin Paradise Water Tinted Cream. Both pretty much foolproof I've found and don't sit in my pores or cake around my nose. Neither are full coverage, but they even out my skin tone and look natural.

WrinklesShminkles · 05/03/2022 19:02

Dior Backstage. I've repurchased twice and wouldn't buy anything else now. Buildable coverage with a natural finish, I just apply with fingers. The bottle is 50ml so better value than a 30ml standard bottle for the same price. Boots sell it Smile

singlepringlenotbychoice · 05/03/2022 19:12

Illamasqua skin base OR Nars sheer glow are my two go to foundations

Hmum0fthree · 05/03/2022 19:13

Estee lauder double wear, can't get a colour Match for anything else I'm to pale 😳

Faevern · 05/03/2022 19:19

For days working on Teams / Zoom etc I use max factor radiant lift with no.7 highlighter drops. Going out it’s Lancôme teint idol.

Whycantibetangy · 05/03/2022 19:20

Clarins everlasting youth fluid foundation has completely transformed my makeup face. I have gone from tired bag lady to dewy skinned supermodel

Erictheavocado · 05/03/2022 19:24

Max Factor colour adapt. I mix a squirt of it in with my mosturiser - gives me light coverage and evens out my natural colouring.

Boood · 05/03/2022 19:29

Estée Lauder Futurist. I mix it with Erborian BB cream in the daytime to make it a bit lighter, and use it alone for evenings. It’s not heavy coverage though p, I just feel I need less after skipping makeup so often in lockdown.

Sexnotgender · 05/03/2022 19:34

Clinique even better glow. Love it.

tobi21 · 05/03/2022 19:51

@soberfabulous this sounds ideal. Do other products ie blush/highlight apply nicely on top?

@Hmum0fthree heard lots of suggestions for this for paler skin so quite tempted to give it a whirl!! Hard to find pale foundation

@Whycantibetangy wow, this one got bumped up the list, I'd very much like to look like a dewy skinned supermodel Grin

I've just bought the Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Foundation and really like it, good coverage and they do base tones of cool, warm and neutral to match your skin tone.

It is brilliant.

I slather on blush, bronzer and highlighter and they all blend really well into it.

I'm really impressed by max factor foundo in general and the radiant lift is my favourite.

I started using MF as a friend gave me one as she had picked the wrong colour but it was perfect for me. I've never looked back.

RockinHorseShit · 05/03/2022 20:02

Bare Minerals ... I can brush it on without even looking at my face, quick, easy & buildable.

RockinHorseShit · 05/03/2022 20:03

Oh & it's great for paler skin too, yours sounds very similar to mine

ThreeRingCircus · 05/03/2022 21:57

Nars natural radiant longwear foundation. I'm pale too OP and wear the shade Yukon. The Nars website has a really good colour matcher where you can put in the shade of other foundations you wear and it advises you accordingly. It was bang on the money for me.

PiscesSt · 05/03/2022 22:16

Estee Lauders Double Wear is brilliant. If you want a more natural look use a small amount after moisturiser. it lasts ages on the face too.
