Stuck zip on handbag! Help

I got a really gorgeous round cross body bag about a month ago and managed yesterday to catch the adhesive sticker from a pack of tissues Sad in the top part of zip and it bunched right into that bit making the zip open about 2 inches. I managed with tweezers to pick out the sticky crap and was able to open but now it won’t close 🤣 Any MN wisdom on what I can use to get the zip working? Its a light enough colour so am nervous trying anything! Thanks

Is it a plastic or metal zip? Can you see if any of the teeth are out of place and bend them back down?

Can you buy a cheap wax candle (like a church / Lady Macbeth type candle) and rub it liberally over the teeth of the zip?

Try rubbing a pencil over the teeth of the zip. The graphite is a lubricant and if it gets on anything it is easily removed.

Thank you will try a pencil first! It’s a metal zip

What's stuck in the zip? Plastic or glue? Sticky stuff remover on a cotton wool bud might get things moving.

WD40 may work, it also removes sticky stuff and is good at lubricating zips.
