A perfect puffer longline coat - stylish and functional

I'm on a fool's errand to find a puffer that should be:
Below knees
Stylish shape (a bit oversized, not cinched at waist but not a tube either)
Showerproof
Hood that can be tightened
Light or khaki/brown colour
Not shiney
With a placket

I've searched Next, New Look, Oasis online, M&S, H&M etc, nothing is quite ticking the box. Have you seen or bought anything similar recently?

I got one from Very, it was around £80, second I’ve bought in this style and it’s been great

@howardmoonseyebrow oooh thank you, heading off to check that out now. Wink

Have you looked at Uniqlo

nearlyspringyay · 05/03/2022 14:41

Next. I love mine. I'm guessing they're moving to spring though so you might struggle.

I bought this and love it. Warm, not too bulky, fleece pockets. I’ve had lots of compliments. www.uniqlo.com/uk/en/product/women-seamless-down-long-coat-439720.html?dwvar_439720_color=COL57&cgid=IDw-coats-jackets

I bought one almost fitting the bill from the Ted Baker sale. It doesn't have a hood but other than that it's perfect. It was reduced from £350 to £150.

I have one from Hush that ticks all those boxes. I went looking for the link, but it seems not to be on their site any more :-( I bought it November time and have worn every single day since. I can wear a t shirt and jeans under it, and walk my daughter to school (in the Scottish winter) and never feel the chill but also don’t ever feel too hot in it.

It’s also not one of those heavy coats like a few others I did try on.

Beachlovingirl · 05/03/2022 14:55

Oh actually here it is if I do a specific search for it

I've got this exact one too and have been very pleased with it. It is flattering, extremely warm and looks more expensive than it actually was.

I want one of these but already have a longish puffer coat.

Also avail in a sort of olive khaki

Noodlekugel · 05/03/2022 18:03

Landsend?

Struggling to find your preferred colours though.

hobbledyhoy · 06/03/2022 21:37

I searched for one for months and found the Barbour rustington. Very cosy and detachable hood. It's been like wearing a duvet this winter. Was expensive at £200 but worth every penny

Amelion · 06/03/2022 23:17

I’ve got this one in a different colour:

I've got 4 puffer coats...

A big quilt one from warehouse - I feel too silly to go out in it so only use it to put the bins out

Thin quilt one from primark - grand but not warm

Hobbs - too stylised and cinched in waist

Uniqlo - love love this one and get lots of compliments
