I seriously need to cut back on my spending.. Can anyone recommend lidl's shampoos for coloured hair & skin care?

I quite like their micellular (can't spell that!?) water
& about half the price of Garnier

Cien body lotion is fine for daily use ime

I've heard good things about their anti ageing day cream but not tried yet

Friendofdennis · 03/03/2022 13:50

The marine cream dupe is good.

Friendofdennis · 03/03/2022 13:50

Also the Aussie shampoo and conditioner dupes.

FayCarew · 03/03/2022 13:57

The serum is great, I'll buy it again

The shampoo was great but I am using a Schwarzkopf one now, as it was in the clearance section in a different supermarket for something like 25p a while ago. I bought quite a few and I like it

The cien shampoo range has changed since I last used it

Their Aussie shampoo and conditioner copies are less than £1 and I find them perfectly fine, my hair always feels soft

Wineloffa · 03/03/2022 14:20

I love the Cien Q10 Intensive Serum and it’s so cheap! Their colour protect shampoo stripped the colour from my hair though so I wouldn’t recommend it.

As an alternative, Alberto Balsam shampoo and conditioner are both excellent and usually on some sort of offer (2 for £1.50 etc)

CoffeeAndCaramel · 03/03/2022 15:37

I really rate both the day and night face creams, but think they're shampoo and conditioner is awful x

Feelingthepinch22 · 03/03/2022 15:37

Thanks everyone, the kerastase days are gone 😭

I think all the Cien stuff is perfectly decent - on a par with any supermarket/chemist own brand stuff and often way cheaper.

Ohshitiveturnedintomymother · 03/03/2022 15:44

I’ve tried the cien anti aging face cream and much prefer the Aldi one instead. Still very cheap but much silkier feeling. The Lidl one made my face sting sometimes and wasn’t absorbed as nicely.

Also, what is this about Aussie dupes?? I have not come across these and use Aussie all the time

Cissyandflora · 03/03/2022 15:50

I’ve recently discovered Lidl and I buy their roll on antiperspirants for my teens. They do not contain aluminium salts. And they are around 60p. I had avoided cien in the past and even thrown the items away if someone else bought them - ridiculous and snobby I know- but now I’m really happy to use them and the quality is good. I don’t like buying cheap if I feel I’m letting my children down if that makes sense. Sorry I’ve not answered your question but it’s similar. I have a huge amount of skin and hair care products but will definitely try cien in the future.

Danikm151 · 03/03/2022 16:02

their sensitive body wash sanex dupe is pretty good

Xztop · 03/03/2022 16:26

Really like the skin care products, I'm currently using a collegen eye cream I bought there for about £2.50 and its the best one I've tried

purdypuma · 04/03/2022 07:06

I use the lidl Q10 day & night cream in addition to their serum & eye cream. All have hyaluronic in them & absorb quickly, had no issues with using them to date & leave my skin soft.

Takenoprisoner · 05/03/2022 16:04

The Lidl Cien gentle cleansing milk is a good basic cleanser that's nice to massage in. Costs about 89p.

Samantha1976 · 29/03/2025 17:05

Is the Cien Pro vitamin Shampoo Repair & Care any good

Samantha1976 · 29/03/2025 17:15

The Cien mega volume shampoo is not very good it makes your hair go dry

EcruCardigan · 29/03/2025 17:26

I like the serum, eye cream and moisturiser. Not tried their shampoo for a while but i used to like it.

The one I liked was discontinued.
Alberto Balsam is fine. I'm currently trying to use up an expensive (for me) shampoo that's rubbish.
