Spring / Summer 2022 Capsule Wardrobe

jemimafuddleduck · 03/03/2022 11:09

I'd really like to do a capsule wardrobe for the next few months. I don't have a huge budget so would like it to be high street brands if possible.
Does anyone know of a blood or insta account which literally lists a capsule wardrobe with all the links?!
I just need to click and be done...

Thanks!

Bumping for you as I'm also interested

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 03/03/2022 18:54

I don't do capsule wardrobes but here's some items I'm planning to be wearing:
slouchy black trousers with a side stripe
slouchy navy trousers with a side stripe
trainers
navy hoodie
black sweatshirt
black jumper dress
slim flare jeans
a couple of 70s-esque blouses
leather jackets
khaki jacket
camo jacket

I have no idea if any of these things count as 'in' or stylish and don't much care tbh.

Your capsule will really depend on what your lifestyle is like, what your personal style is like, and what colours suit you.

@RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie thanks for the ideas. I'm looking for a list really with links of a full capsule wardrobe. I think maybe that's too much to ask for 😊

@IlonaRN I'm happy to give more info to anyone who wants to know!

Wearsmymoney is a blog/insta account which does a capsule wardrobe for spring and summer with links. Hasn’t done the spring one yet this year usually in May but if you like her style (as I do) it is an extremely convenient and efficient way to shop.

give me more info?..
size? requirements.eg.work/home lifestyle?any colour/absolute nots?total budget?

jemimafuddleduck · 03/03/2022 22:03

@verytired42 I'll check it out, thanks!

@tolerable
Ok...

I'm a size 8-10, 5'3, 35yo. Don't love the oversized look but also not body con, somewhere in between. Don't mind a bit of slouchy stuff but super oversized just makes me look bigger than I am.

A normal casual look for me would be jeans (skinny or mom), stripy top and trainers or ankle boots.

Going out I always default to leather look jeans and a top with boots.

I tend to go for black, white, stripy and boring!

Ideally I'd like a capsule wardrobe to encompass both casual, the odd night / meal out and work (work is smart casual, not super formal).

I have some basics already (skinny jeans in black and blue, same for mom jeans, white skinny jeans, leather biker jacket, beige wool coat) but struggle with other stuff / what else to wear.

Ideally I'd get a personal shopper / stylist, but I can't afford it!

I could probably allocate around £200 (hence High street required!) to be getting on with. I do have around £60 in M&S vouchers so would be great to use that too.

Not asking too much, am I?! 🤣

so-tops mostly.do you wear skirts/dresses?

jemimafuddleduck · 04/03/2022 15:47

I do wear dresses but not really skirts

Have you tried one of the free personal shoppers in John Lewis or similar? You don’t have to buy but they might have some ideas of how to just update what you already have.

jemimafuddleduck · 04/03/2022 20:44

No I haven't. My budget wouldn't stretch far in JL and I need someone to actually tell me what to wear rather than say "a stripy r like this but this one's £40, find one cheaper elsewhere", IYSWIM.

Anna Cascarina is on Instagram and has just done a Spring capsule wardrobe from the high street that might be what you are looking for.

givememarmite · 05/03/2022 08:26

I really like stylebyclairelopez on insta at the moment. She shows different ways of styling basic items, also what suits what shape etc. it's mostly high street items too which is great.

RazorstormUnicorn · 05/03/2022 08:50

Doesmybumlook40 on insta has just released a capsule wardrobe, it's probably ££ but could look for highstreet versions?

jemimafuddleduck · 05/03/2022 10:56

Thanks all, I'll check these out.

@RazorstormUnicorn I can't see that capsule wardrobe, do you have a link?

OP posts:
RazorstormUnicorn · 05/03/2022 15:53

I don't know how to link to instagram Blush

It's in her story highlights NRBY edits. Lots of blue and cream and blue/cream stripes.

It's not quite my kind of thing but interesting to see how just a few items produce a lot of outfits.

Weaselstoatferret · 05/03/2022 18:30

I follow a stylist called Emily Innes and think her insta is stylemehappy. She posts some nice stuff with links and you can pay to get exactly what you are asking for. I don't think its costs too much but she sends you a load so links to items that would suit you
