Opera

I need help!

I'm off to the opera in a couple of weeks. I had weight loss surgery a little while ago, so I'm losing weight fast at the moment. Therefore I don't want to spend a fortune on an outfit that will only fit me for a short time.

I'm generally fairly casual and don't need to massively dress up for this but I want to look nice and pulled together.

I'm about a size 18-20 at the moment I think.

Any suggestions? How can I look lovely and chic on a budget??

Grooming.

You’re right that you don’t need to dress up - and you probably have perfectly acceptable clothes. So why not spend whatever money you feel like spending on the chic-est haircut, colour, whatever. New make-up; a piece of jewellery.

Then pick two or three of the simplest items from you wardrobe and make sure they’re immaculate. New footwear always lifts familiar clothes, too.

You’ll look grand - and won’t have to throw away any hastily bought clothes in a month’s time.

Ah, you're absolutely right. It's always the best way. Thank you! I'll have a look in my wardrobe and think about a splurge on a beautiful bag or pair of earrings!
