I like them but they don't like me! I always look frumpy.
How do you wear them so they look good?! Please help!
I'm early 40s, a size 10 but with a big bum and saddlebags! I'm into more of a casual look than anything fancy or formal

You have to dunk them up. For me that’s heavy boots and a jacket, good bag and jewellery. I don’t like to wear them in their own as they look frumpy that way.

Funk them up I mean!

In summer I wear them a lot with a denim jacket and white trainers. In winter I wear them a lot with black tights, black ankle boots and a slouchy jumper over the top.

I love the look of them but as soon as I try them on I just think of my mother. I can't get past wearing a dress that isn't short. I've bought a few, kept them in my wardrobe and I just never wear them. 🙄

Make sure they are fitted on the top so show your curves .

I've got this on in the other colour way ( sold out) and it's super flattering !

I love a midi dress and they love me. I have a couple Of jigsaw ones from last summer in jersey material. They drape beautifully. I agree you want it to be fitted on the top half. My dresses do mum bum al kinds of favours and make my legs look even longer. I'm 55. Agree denim jackets or leather jackets style well. Tank tops too.

I don't think it is the midi length that doesn't suit, but the current shapeless styles.
There's too much cheap fabric, high necks and drastic pattern going on at present, that no matter where you search for midi's they are all the same. It doesn't matter what pricepoint either, you can only find viscose or polyester, often at shocking prices for garments that have no concept of the female form.

I have been searching for a simple black midi slip dress for summer, with clean lines, good cotton and delicate straps. All i can find are giant, high necked sacks with lurid designs in unlined, shit fabric.

From your description of your figure and size, a well made midi would suit you to a tee. Sadly I don't think they exist, but more due to crap trends and cheap manufacture than your body or personal style.
