What do you thinking this coat?

I'm looking for a classic coat but just can't settle on one

I want classic yet modern, nothing frumpy (whatever they actually means), something that doesn't make me feel all 'ooh look at me in my POSH coat' and plain. Want it to go with everything

As for me - I'm really fussy about my coats. I wear either a Bird+Wolf camo jacket, or a sweaty Betty hoodie. Sometimes a north face reign jacket

But they're all super casual

I suppose I want casual yet also smarter

Does this fit the bill?

I honestly can’t see it working with any of those outfits, it’s too structured and formal. You need something softer/more relaxed in shape to go with joggers and casual stuff IMO. The material looks too stiff too. I know you don’t want oversized but something a bit more relaxed, in a softer material would look better with casual clothes. See lots of women wearing joggers and chunky boots, relaxed wool coats and it looks great but it doesn’t just work with any old wool coat.

@Amelion hmm. So maybe I need a relaxed wool coat? That isn't cocoon or oversized as I just don't like those on me

OP it will be fine with those. That basically becomes a relaxed jacket when worn with the things you're describing.

I don't love it and unless you are a good hourglass with a defined hip to waist ratio, that pleating at the back has the potential to make your arse look huge.

I think if everything you wear is super casual you risk the " just popped on my dressing gown to go to Tescos" look and that it would benefit from being paired with something a bit smarter.

Buy what you're going to wear. However, your opening post says you want a classic coat but that's a casual jacket. So you don't want a classic coat?

Personally I’d say so. Either relaxed shape and/or material. Otherwise it looks incongruous to the rest of your clothes - like you’ve been wearing joggers and just chucked on the nearest coat to pop to the shops.
