Background: two toddlers, ever shrinking clothes budget, 30s.

I feel I need to skip the current white trainer zeitgeist - they are everywhere where I live and if the white trainer look suddenly becomes "out" I won't be in a position to replace, so I am looking for style perennials? Fairly trend-proof but still not a one-way ticket to frumpsville?

I wear converse a lot but that's a default atm. Ideas gratefully received tia x

I like the look of leather style slip on ones. Think they look better without laces! In tan or navy. I’ve been looking for some non leather ones like theirs for ages.

Also I have some wool allbirds in dark red which look good with jeans

I have these ones from Moda in Pelle. Are they at the cutting edge of fashion - no. But they're comfortable and they look good with lots of things. They were half price in the Black Friday sale.

I love trainers, but several per season, almost all Nike because that's what suits my feet but I find these 3 styles are pretty 'fashion' proof, always in, never out, have been wearing all in different colour ways for the last 25 years

I don't own any but I've followed a few similar threads out of curiosity and I'm honestly not sure there's such a thing as a trend proof trainer right now. If you don't particularly love any (I'm assuming not) then I'd just side step the whole circus and wear some flats that you like.

Adidas Gazelles and the slightly chunkier Adidas Superstars never go out of fashion and come in a whole heap of colours.

I need trainers just as an option for everyday out and about. I lived in flat boots over winter but want to shake things up with spring coming.

@SweetNcrunchy I have a pair of addidas gazelles so might go with that? They are black and black trainers got a bit of a frump-shaming on MN recently, so I took them out of circulation.

Not aiming for cutting edge fashion (I used to in my 20s, but realistically I just am not at that stage in life atm, I know lots of mums with little ones look on trend every season but we just can't stretch to it)

@GreyTS I love those nikes in the middle, thanks for the ideas x

Onitsuka Tiger Mexico 66 retro trainers. OT are huge in Asia. Really comfortable and more classic than fashionable.
