Sort of. I've had a Philips lumea for just over a year now. I'd waxed my legs for 30 years previously which I think made the treatment harder simply because the hairs were so strong. I had dreadful spotty reaction and itching the first 3 months of treatment.
My hair has not given up without a fight. I still zap every fortnight and have to shave the last fighting hairs off, sometimes every ten days. But they are pretty much smooth now and it's paying for itself. It's taken a year instead of Philips optimistic 4 months Hmm.
I have dark hair and pale skin.

Thanks. Dark hair on pale skin is supposed to offer the optimum results, isn't it? It doesn't sound great if it's struggled in optimum circs. I've pale skin and mid hair. Confused

Venus Naked Skin here (not sure they still make them) and it’s been life changing.
95% of hair gone on my v hairy legs and prob 50% on underarms and bikini line. I did my legs first, so am hoping underarms and bikini catch up eventually, they do seem more resistant though.

Pale skin and dark hair and I was v hairy.

I love my IPL machine. I’ve got pale skin with mid hair, so my hair responded well to it. I do top ups as regularly as I can and I haven’t reached 100% hair removal, more like 95%. It’s time consuming, but so freeing to not have to worry about shaving or waxing and the hassles that come with those.
I haven’t experienced side effects from IPL.

How long have you been using it and what device are you using? TIA

I love my Philips Lumea, so glad I got it as I went through most of last summer without having to worry about my legs. Rather bizarrely one underarm is better than the other.

I’ve been using a Babyliss IPL for just over a year. Well I stopped in August and started again last month but used it regularly otherwise. It’s made most difference on my legs, it’s dramatically reduced hair but I do still have to shave. I have dark, thick hair and pale olive skin so the reduction has been fabulous, I doubt I’ll ever achieve anything like 95% though but probably at about 70% reduction on my legs which is great. Under arms and bikini line less than that but still an improvement.
