What would you do with these eyes?

I really struggle with eye make up… do I have hooded eyes? If I apply eyeshadow you can’t really see it when my eyes are open and I don’t appear to have any eye socket bone structure!

I prefer natural looking make up rather than a dramatic look - no bright colours. But recommendations would be appreciated for what to do with my eyes… a smudgy eye pencil perhaps?

I'm not sure that they are fully hooded, as if they were, I don't think you'd be able to see any eyelid at all when looking straight ahead.

That said, my eyelids are similar to yours and I also struggle with eye make up. I've read that applying eye shadow up past the crease is good for hooded eyes, and smudged outwards. I try to do this and it looks nice, though I'm no expert!

Cat-eye eyeliner doesn't work on me at all, but some smudged eyeliner does.

BlackSwan · 25/02/2022 18:56

Beautiful eyes - you really don't need anything!

SummerHouse · 25/02/2022 19:03

Hummm. I would look in the mirror each morning and thank the lord for my excellent luck in the eye department.

If I was going out I would use a really light eyeshadow, white / silver, and a liquid liner smudging out to blend with a black pencil liner.

Lovely eyes AND eyebrows. Bit jealous.

Stylemyeyes · 25/02/2022 20:25

Full disclosure - I am wearing mascara and a bit of brown pencil eyeliner on the top lash line in the picture. I find brown is more forgiving than black as I get older.
Just not sure how to elevate to a more going outy look.

Wow you have beautiful eyes! You look like the actress who plays myriel (sp?) in the great so maybe look at pics of her and see what she wears.

MrsSkylerWhite · 25/02/2022 20:29

Oh do bugger off! Your eyes are beautiful Grin

MrsSkylerWhite · 25/02/2022 20:30

(Won’t post mine, the WWW would break.)

Seriously, you really do have beautiful eyes.

Jericha · 25/02/2022 20:37

If wanting eyeshadow ideas, I'd do a slightly darker than skin colour matt shadow, in a taupe or mid brown above your socket crease with a light touch and a small fluffy brush. Same as tutorials in shape but higher than where the natural curve is when your eyes are shut so it's visible. If wearing eyeliner apply it with your eyes open and looking into the mirror straight on, not with eyes closed. With liquid eyeliner I don't go across the whole lash line, just outer corners, but dark eyeshadow pressed into the lash roots give a similar, less obvious effect. I have similar eye shape to you and do these things.

LolaLuffnagal · 25/02/2022 20:56

No advice but you have very pretty eyes Smile

bettertocryinamercedes · 25/02/2022 21:44

I have hooded eyes too and the thing that makes a real difference is lash extensions. Really opens out my eyes and don't need makeup.

Is that an option?

Stylemyeyes · 25/02/2022 21:48

Well you’re all very kind!

Lash extensions not really an option - I don’t really want to commit to the upkeep or expense. My friend has them and I know they need regular maintenance.

As an aside, I’m completely freaked out that I now immediately have lash extension ads on mn - have never had them before.

Stunning. Not sure what else you could do to make them better 🤷‍♀️

CarrotSticks2 · 25/02/2022 21:54

Is this a stealth boast Grin your eyes are beautiful, they really don't need anything

Feather12 · 25/02/2022 21:59

LVL (Lash lift) would open up your eyes, it also makes your lashes look longer.

HalfaShilling · 25/02/2022 21:59

I would do nothing besides look out of them. They are gorgeous as they are!

If you wanted to go full-on wowsers, eye liner and gold or olive green eyeshadow. Gold or olive look absolutely amazing with brown eyes.

BusterGonad · 25/02/2022 22:03

I think the By Terry ombre black star in bronze moon would look amazing then smudge some brown eyeliner around and you're good to go.

ApolloandDaphne · 25/02/2022 22:17

You have beautiful eyes. You need little beyond some smudgy eyeliner, some neutral eyeshadow and great mascara.

1frenchfoodie · 26/02/2022 07:35

Your day look is just gorgeous (beautiful eyebrows too) really not sure you need to do more for going out.

Stylemyeyes · 26/02/2022 09:00

Thank you for the tips Jericha and product recommendation Buster, will give them a try.

They are pricey but worth it, it's a crayon that smudges beautifully, and doesn't crease. Misty Rock is a beautiful colour too, it's my favourite. I had a set of 3 I bought on offer. They are so flattering.
