Properly waterproof parka brands?

Due to pregnancy weight gain I haven't really got a warm coat that fits well. I'd like to buy a second hand one from Vinted or charity shop without spending too much as I'm hoping to lose at least another stone in the next couple of months.

What brands should I be looking for? I've always bought fashion/high street but would rather buy something actually waterproof and warm this time. I'm too old to feel wet and cold for the sake of fashion!

Seasalt! A bit marmite on here, but mine keeps me dry through torrential rain. I've washed it and re-waterproofed it once - following instructions and using the nikwax stuff you can buy from most outdoor shops - and its remained equally waterproof.

Another vote for Didriksons.

I absolutely love mine - well worth the investment.

I got mine from Tesco’s and have had lots of compliments. Its padded but not that thick so can wear in the car, has a hood and says it’s waterproof - it feels cottony - comes to just above my knees and goes down at the back like the smart ones Really cosy and I’ve worn it in some dreadful weather and always dry and cosy underneath I got it in October so no idea if they are still in stock I think it was £49. Would highly recommend.

Another vote for regatta, I picked a parka style coat for £25 in their sale and it’s properly waterproof and warm and has lasted me the last 2 years

Helly Hansen! I bought one when I was pregnant. It's fantastic!

@gogohm

Mountain warehouse are good, they have the waterproof rating on them- 10,000 is good, below that is more shower resistant. Very rarely are parkas waterproof, you are better off looking at 3 in 1 jackets. Once you have a pram you won't be able to hold an umbrella so they are invaluable!
Yes, this. I got a Mountain warehouse one for £99 (half price down from £200). Its two coats in one that can be separated out. It comes to my knees. Its the only coat I've ever own in my 60 years that hasn't let a single drop of rain in. Plus its totally windproof.

Have a look at craghoppers. Ive got a super warm and waterproof parka from there. Its full of pockets. Their clothes are full of features and are really good value for money.
