Looking for budget mascara recommendations

I’m looking to spend up to £10, if you can find it in Boots that’s a bonus. If it comes in brown , even better. Recommendations welcome!

Max Factor 2000 calories
Maybelline Great Lash

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 23/02/2022 20:46

www.thebodyshop.com/en-gb/makeup/mascara/super-volume-mascara/p/p000184

Available in Brown -£10

And the Eyeko Brown got loads of good reviews from the M&S Beauty Advent thread but it's £17

Enzbear · 23/02/2022 20:46

Feature length mascara- Barry M

DiscoBadgers · 23/02/2022 20:48

Startlingly, primark ones are really good….

BarryTheChopper · 23/02/2022 20:50

L’Oreal Telescopic. I always go back to this as a great budget option. It does come in Brown too.

gogohm · 23/02/2022 20:51

Boots number 7, think it was £12 but DD's student card gives a great discount so was £9

MintMe · 23/02/2022 21:18

L'Oreal Paradise. I spent years searching for the holy grail of affordable mascara and this is the closest I've got. I've re-bought monthly for the past year which is high praise as I'm a total mascara whore.

If you're looking for something a bit pricier, Clarins Supra Lash is also great.

WhoppingBigBackside · 23/02/2022 21:35

I didn't suggest No7 Stay Perfect as it's about £13 but it's what I use

WhoppingBigBackside · 23/02/2022 21:37

While I am here, Boots 17 is back. Not seen it in the shop yet but it's online www.boots.com/brands/brands-s/17-

LaWench · 23/02/2022 21:39

Loreal million lashes

NashvilleQueen · 23/02/2022 21:41

Primark one in a silver tube. £3. Excellent

NashvilleQueen · 23/02/2022 21:43

It's called Wonder Lash

MisterRee · 23/02/2022 21:48

People here used to always say max factor 2000calories and that is exactly what I use now and it’s great for the price. Goes on nicely, no Clumpy bits, comes in black and brown and you can get it in boots!

whataboutbob · 24/02/2022 20:19

Thanks for all these great recommendations everyone. I think it boils down to Max Factor 2000 calories and L’Oréal paradise. I’ll try one on each eye!

I know it’s not exactly what you’ve asked for but I’ve just got the Ledgendary Lengths Mascara from Avon online, it’s currently £7 but then you have delivery costs so about £10 all in and it’s black, I’m not aware if they do a brown one, but I have to say, it’s bloody good, I spent a small fortune looking for a high st budget mascara last year & failed to find one that impressed, this one however has.

Bumpmakes4 · 24/02/2022 23:03

Wilko lash princess - honestly it's amazing. And £3 ish.

stepfordwifey · 25/02/2022 08:19

@BarryTheChopper

L’Oreal Telescopic. I always go back to this as a great budget option. It does come in Brown too.
I've recently discovered this too. Great value mascara for lengthening, separating lashes and applying to lower lashes. Tescos did 2 for £11 recently.
Deathraystare · 25/02/2022 12:00

@Bumpmakes4

I second the Wilco Princess one!

EatSleepReplete · 25/02/2022 12:03

The Boots No7 Stay Perfect used to be my favourite but they’ve changed it & all the reviews are dreadful now. Shame as it was a relatively affordable tubing mascara.

NeedWineNow · 25/02/2022 13:48

Max Factor Masterpiece is my budget recommendation. I have tried the Wilko Lash Princess but have to say I'm not keen (smudges, and makes my eyes itch badly if a slightest little bit gets in).

I'm going to try the L'Oreal Paradise though on the basis of this thread!

whataboutbob · 25/02/2022 14:22

Just bought Max Factor 2000 calories and very please with it. It is brown black, but really black as far as I can see. Helps define my eyes , plus I just dyed my eyebrows so feel a lot better now! I’m 55, always used to have thick dark eyebrows and long lashes so didn’t bother, but these steps now really make a difference.

I love the Wilko mascaras too & they’re cruelty free 🙂
