I used to use Sesationail gel kit that I bought in boots. I found it good and easy to use. The gel goes on a little differently to nail varnish (it sort of holds itself together more).

You have to be fairly good at painting nails and avoiding skin.

I stopped using mine because I found it impossible to soak off the gels without serious damage to my nails. This may have just been me but I never got the hang of removing them.

Dd and I got a my Lee one for Christmas.

It's very easy to use and on me the gels stay on well and don't chip. On dd they peel off really quickly.

Dd is only allowed very limited use (school holidays) because she's a, only an early teen so I don't want her damaging her nails and b, not allowed painted nails in school.

Whilst mine do last, I do get tempted to peel them off and that does damage my nails but I have removed well with wraps and remover.

My friend does her own very successfully and her nails are holding up. She has the same set as me.

I've just bought a Mylee set, used it for the first time at the weekend, really simple to use and quick. It came with an LED lamp, which apparently is quicker than UV. So far no chips Smile

Mylee with an LED lamp, slightly more expensive but worth it. I brought the whole kit during lockdown and I haven’t had a chip once, it lasts until you remove it.
The best way to remove it is with Mylee magic gel remover rather than the liquid remover that comes with the kit.
It has been worth every penny.
I used Sensationail a few times a couple of years ago, the regular kit was a devil to remove and damaged my nails, the peel off kit only lasted 5 days.

I use Bluesky varnishes and think they are really good, they can be found fairly easily online and do a huge range of colours. However, I have the same issue as @ViaRia and now only use it on special occasions as no matter what methods I've tried for removal, they all mess my nails up

Ifeellikedancing · 22/02/2022 15:30

Mylee and bluesky are both pretty decent. Sensational polishes are hit and miss.

My tech uses Mylee and I’m well impressed with the polish. Doesn’t chip and equally as good as Shellac and TGB.
