Allergic to hair dye - ok to have foils?

I had a slight reaction to a patch test - skin was a bit sore. Hairdresser said I can still have it coloured using this dye with foils and she’ll avoid letting it touch my head. Anyone else with an allergy had this done?

Yes. I have a slight itchy reaction to home dyes and have had several lots of foils from my hairdresser with no problems.

If you are near London go to Natural Colour Works hairdressers. I am allergic and they use water colour which is lovely and just as long lasting.

@PandoraP!thanks! Do they use Daniel Field? Where in London is the salon?

@Sunshinesea35, not Daniel Field but similar. They are currently off Regent Street. They have a website, but sorry not sure how to do links. I have been going for years. Started when I suddenly developed an allergy.

I've always had the red sore reaction too but have never thought of this, it's so obvious!

With foils do you "just" get streaks of colour instead of all the hair?
