Which is the nicest perfume ? Do they last ? Are they worth the (extortionate) expense ?

They do really really last. Here in Asia you can buy a lovely set of reasonably sized samples. I got that and then bought a whole bottle of Fucking Fabulous. Is it worth the price? It does have tremendous longevity and I can smell it on myself all day.

DramaAlpaca · 21/02/2022 01:26

Yes, they last, they tend to be rather over powering in my experience. TBH I'm not that keen on the brand overall and I think they are ridiculously overpriced.

The ones I've tried have been very 'look at me!' extrovert sort of fragrances, perfect for those who like to make an entrance and be noticed, but not for someone like me who prefers to blend into the background.

They are all very different and you'd need to try before you commit to buying, I wouldn't advise a blind buy. A sample set is a good idea, or a session trying a few out instore.

We can't advise you on what's the nicest as everyone's taste is different. For example, the poster above obviously loves Fucking Fabulous, whereas I detest it and call it Fucking Horrible! (sorry, pp, no offence)

DedalusBloom · 21/02/2022 09:22

They're a bit "jazz hands" for my taste, although I think they're blended very well as DramaAlpaca says they are often quite in your face and can enter the room before you do if you're not careful. There's also just so many of them and they are mostly disappointingly one note.

Perfume Parlour do some very good copies if you want to try and see how you get on with them without committing to spending £££

Fucking Fabulous to me is awful ( sorry PP!) and Lost Cherry just smells weird. Tobacco Vanille is lovely in very small doses and Soleil Blanc and Champaca Absolute are good summer fragrances.

I also really love his original Tom Ford for Men which reminds me of the original Gucci that he created when working there.

DedalusBloom · 21/02/2022 09:23

Gucci Envy , that should say. Man, I miss that fragrance.

ginislife · 21/02/2022 09:29

😂 @DramaAlpaca I completely get where you're coming from re personal taste. I do remember years ago being in a room where a girl wearing what turned out to be Black Orchid walked in and boy did everyone know she'd arrived !! It's the orangey ones I like but there's just so much choice !!

I absolutely love the Portofino one, I think that's what it's called anyway. In the blue bottle. Smells like the most fabulous holiday. Probably more expensive than a Ryanair flight to Italy Grin

DramaAlpaca · 21/02/2022 13:28

@DedalusBloom oh, I miss Gucci Envy too... I have managed to find an acceptable dupe though, from Eden Perfumes.

I love the opening notes of Lost Cherry, then unfortunately on me it morphs into cherries in a full ash tray. I also hate the name, though it is certainly attention grabbing.

Black Orchid would be nice if it was toned down a notch.

Tillymint10 · 21/02/2022 13:43

I have found the opposite to PP!
I have Soleil Blanc & while I absolutely love the scent (it is literally a summer holiday in a bottle) I find it doesn’t last at all & is very underwhelming in terms of strength.
I have never had anyone comment on it while wearing it, while most of my perfumes from other brands have drawn comments.
I wouldn't rebuy!

Prettybubblesintheair · 21/02/2022 13:45

I think one of the Superdrug perfumes is a dupe for Tom Ford Santal blush. The exotic musk one I’ll try and find a link

Prettybubblesintheair · 21/02/2022 13:46

Lottapianos · 21/02/2022 13:47

I bought a 5ml sample of Bitter Peach on eBay last year. I love it, and it's extremely long lasting. It's a very strong fragrance and definitely not to everyone's taste. Agree with others that the prices are just extortionate, same for his makeup

Nitgel · 21/02/2022 13:49

i really like the Purple Orchid and use that all the time, but finds it fades. I find the Black Orchid is really potent and lingers.

When in John Lewis I drence myself in the Lost Cherry but that doesn't seem to last either.

ItsCanardBruv · 21/02/2022 13:50

Tuscan leather is my choice - incredible longevity on me at least. Portofino I find disappears on me very quickly.

I do love a good drench of black orchid. Grin

Joxster · 21/02/2022 13:53

Tobacco Vanille is lovely. I can’t justify spending an obscene amount on perfume even if I could afford it, so I buy a dupe from copycat fragrances.

DedalusBloom · 21/02/2022 13:56

@DramaAlpaca

Ooo thanks for the heads up!

evilharpy · 21/02/2022 14:06

I love Vanille Fatale and Cafe Rose. I love the smell of Black Orchid but it gives me a pounding headache.

The Perfume Parlour dupes are very good. I buy some discontinued TF scents from there including Amber Absolute which is my favourite.

Popsicle33 · 21/02/2022 19:21

Black Orchid bis my signature scent. I could still weep that Sahara Noir was discontinued. I really fancy Rose Prick but the price is crazy

VetOnCall · 21/02/2022 21:21

Neroli Portofino is my favourite ever scent. Its expensive but I just love it and a bottle lasts me a long time - I use Jo Malone (wood sage and sea salt or orange blossom) for everyday, and keep the NP for 'good'. They're the only 3 scents that I wear.

VetOnCall · 21/02/2022 21:22

*it's expensive not its 🙄

CurlsandCurves · 21/02/2022 21:24

Noir is my signature scent.

I love it and always get compliments when I wear it.
