Wavy hair help

Up until my mid thirties I had quite curly hair which would form loose ringlets (and lots of frizz). The curls didn't start at the root but a few inches down which meant my hair looked curlier as it got longer.

Now I'm mid 40s the curl has mostly disappeared. I have a loose wave. It is straight on top but with some curl in the underneath. If I diffuse it (rarely) it does go more ringletty but drops out quickly and I worry I look a bit 80s perm like this.

I think it looks best after a wet and blowy dog walk and then the curls look their most defined. But this is not very predictable for nights out.

Are there any products that will recreate "wet and windy" at home?

Check out Curly Girl Method. It's a faff but it works for many people.
