Hello,

I'm new to Vinted. I've sold a few things and have got some other items still available for purchase.

What is the purpose of favouriting? People are favouriting my items but not buying, are they waiting for me to reduce? Vinted also seems to encourage me to start a conversation with the people that have favourited? Do people actually do this?

Favouriting just creates a sort of 'wish list' for the person. So if they're looking for a navy coat aged 10 they might favourite 5 that catch their eye and then go back and look at them all more closely, compare prices etc.

Sometimes I've favourited something and been sent a direct offer which is fine. Sometimes I've favourited something and received 'are you going to buy this????' which is not so fine!

Sometimes I add something while I'm deciding whether I actually like/want it, or if I have several things I want to compare. Sometimes I add a thing I like if I spot it in the wrong size, so I can look for the same one in my size, or if it's a bit expensive so I can look around for a better price. Sometimes I get a notification that an item in my favourites has been reduced and I've gone back and bought it. Lots of times I add something and then get an offer (which sometimes I accept and sometimes I don't).

I've never had a message from the seller other than just an offer.

I favourite things I like, and may, or not, buy later. I think it only alerts the seller if that option is selected in your settings.

It’s just the same as watching on eBay for me. Things I like but haven’t decided if I’ll buy. Sometimes you’ll get an offer from the seller too.

If someone 'favourites' one of my items, I send them an offer of around £2-3 off the asking price. My asking price is usually a few quid more than I would actually expect for the item, which gives me scope to both make and accept offers.

Thank you all! This is helpful!

I know this is an old post but just want to add people may add to favourites and then purchase them on payday.
