I saw the other trouser thread today and was going to ask there - I'm struggling to find work trousers as well but I'm very differently shaped to that poster.
I'm a size 16-18 rectangle, short at 5'3" (but not short enough to be "petite"), and I have straight hips/bum but short, rhino proportioned legs with heavy thighs.
I like the look of tapered trousers but they never seem to sit right on me with my thick knees and calves - wide leg has potential but I feel conscious of the tightness across the chunky thighs and again they don't sit right. I've tried all the usual places without much luck - a 16 is slightly tight and sits badly on the waist, an 18 is more comfortable but way too loose at the bum/hips. I've lost a lot of curves of late, I'm a bit blocky.
My favourite ever trousers were a loose silky pair of wide leg trousers from Principles, remember them! They were straight up and down and skimmed everything.
Everything is always way too long but there's always Wundaweb. Any ideas from anyone very gratefully received, I've tried lots but nothing is ever quite right - I'm off to have a look at the crepe M&S ones mentioned on the other thread...
