Help-awards event dressing

I'm going to an external awards event with work in a few weeks with the code "dress to impress" in a fancy venue in London.

I'm thinking of wearing a long black velvet column dress with a v neck, straps about an inch thick-it looks good on me and I'm comfortable in it.

But it has no sleeves! I'm worried about flashing too much arm (I'm a short curvy 16).

Thinking of either a sequin jacket or one of those little beaded boleros but would really value some feedback/alternatives from you classy S&B peeps-really don't want to look daft! Thanks in advance. I'll try and post some links too

I don't have a picture of it exactly Raera but it's something like this

Both the jacket and mini cape will go beautifully with the dress.

If you're just going car to venue I'd go for the cape, it's beautiful - however if you're travelling and will be outside for any length of time I'd probably go for the jacket

I think I won't have to walk very far so leaning towards the cape at the moment!
