Desperately seeking a swimming costume!

Nothing fits and look decent ( by that I mean not indecent!)

42, solid size, 16 5'6. Analysed as a pear shape although surprised as though I was hourglass. Heavy thighs and tummy. Defined waist. 34 F

Problem is that ALL swimming costumes are not long enough in body even sizing up 18, they do not cover my breast and are there for all to see and stretched so tightly upwards the lower half is indecent!

I think I have a very long body.

prefer bikinis for this reason but alas ageing has come upon me and I just can't wear bikinis anymore despite being the same weight and size, I just look a bit flobbier.

Does anyone else have this!?

Help - Please. I'm desperate!!

It's for canaries at Easter in the pool with kids and extended family.

Would a tankini work?

AndSoFinally · 11/02/2022 19:39

Try SeaFancy. They do tall, underwired and plus size all in one. Their site gives torso measurements so you'll have a good idea if they'll fit.

seafancy.co.uk/category/one-pieces/product/deep-green-floral-print-strap-one-piece-swimsuit-1

Something like this may work?

Leah2005 · 11/02/2022 19:40

A tankini is definitely your friend

ErrolTheDragon · 11/02/2022 19:41

I don't know what the fit is like (Im petite) but I've noticed most of the lands end swimsuit styles have a long option.

WouldIBeATwat · 11/02/2022 19:43

I’m long in the body too and find a tankini does the job.

cherrypiepie · 11/02/2022 19:47

@AndSoFinally you have THE answer in one fell swoop! Sea fancy if fabulous. There is so much choice and has torso length! ! They are affordable and pretty and modest!AMAZING! Amazing!

Yes to tankini but not many about and the bottoms can be too skimpy for my ample waist and thighs!

Tried lands end but they rarely have the right size / price/ length/ colour / style combo

Thank you @WouldIBeATwat and @ErrolTheDragon

Well that was a short thread 😂

Happy to have helped

babyunicorn · 11/02/2022 19:57

I have this exact problem! I've found Figleaves do a longer length range but hard to find in stock in many places.

Seafancy are lovely....am I missing something though? Can you search by torso length? Can't see that anywhere!

Mackmama · 11/02/2022 20:03

Next do swimming costumes in the tall range, I’ve found them quite good x

cherrypiepie · 11/02/2022 20:06

@babyunicorn the one @AndSoFinally linked is "long body friendly" in the description and each product has the length on it.

I think it's long body friendly as it has ruching in the front.

@AndSoFinally the shortest, happiest most satisfying thread!

Ah amazing thank you, I missed that link 🤦🏼‍♀️ it's good to know where to look as I always leave it until mine are fully falling apart then spend weeks searching!
I seem to think my last costume was from Asda - not specifically for tall people but found them generous.

mumonthehill · 11/02/2022 20:20

Would second landsend as the long body option is a great fit, have having looked at Seafancy they look good too!

wineymummy · 16/03/2023 07:07

@cherrypiepie did you buy from Sea Fancy in the end? It looks good is it one of those dodgy websites that advertise on Facebook but it's shit quality and takes 2 months to arrive then can't be returned?

RaisinRainbow · 23/04/2023 08:18

Yes as Winey would like to hear about your experience of seafancy.

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 23/04/2023 08:41

Lands End do their "tugless" range in long body sizes, and various bust sizes.
They are excellent.

I say that as a tall, chunky, size 16 with big boobs.

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 23/04/2023 08:42

I don't find tankini a any good for a long body, as I always get a gap in the middle.

OakleyStreetisnotinChelsea · 23/04/2023 08:43

I know this is old but has recent posts asking for updates. I got 2 swimsuits from seafancy last summer and both are brilliant. I have a nice one piece and a tankini. The tankini has a really supportive bra which stays put being chucked around in the waves in the Atlantic and a looser overlay so it skims rather than clings which is very flattering.
