A very moisturising lipstick that is long lasting?

Any suggestions? I get very dry lips and lots of lipsticks seem to make them worse or just end up looking awful. I've got various ones that are somewhere between tinted lipbalms and lipsticks, but the colour doesn't last. Is there a super-moisturising lipstick that doesn't need re-doing constantly?

I’ve never found one, I find a lip tint with a similar tinted lip balm to reapply works best. I’ve never really spent much on lipstick though so maybe some of the more ££ ones are better.

Have you tried MAC lipstick? On me it lasts well and doesn't dry out my lips. Most others I've tried are drying!

Pricey, but the Chanel Coco Rouge Flash formula is really good!

ParkheadParadise · 11/02/2022 18:14

I find Chubby Stick Moisturizing Lip Colour Balm from Clinique good.

Max factor colour elixir

Wet and wild megasliks balm stain are bloody brilliant and cheap. You get them from eBay or in the states. I love them!

Riverlee · 11/02/2022 19:25

Maybelline 24 lipstick

Another vote for Chanel coco rouge flash - pricey but feels lovely, great pigment and wide colour choice. Treated myself at the little Chanel shop in St Pancras (whilst killing time waiting for a train one day) and I’ll definitely repurchase/try other colours. And I say that as a lifelong lipbalm-only wearer!

Clarins lip oil or the Armani Maestro ones

Lottapianos · 12/02/2022 09:47

I have really dry lips too. I need to prep them with a lip scrub, then add a good layer of lip balm. Then I start my make up, and when I get to lips, I remove the lip balm with a damp flannel, and add whatever lipstick or gloss I'm wearing that day. I can get along pretty well with any lip product if I prep this way, maybe except for MAC which are horribly drying!

I really like Burberry Kisses.
This is my one and only go to lipstick.

TiddleTaddleTat · 12/02/2022 09:53

Surprised by how good the primark lipsticks are. Prefer the glossy one. Think it was 75p or £1!!

Following! It's the Holy Grail and I'm not sure it truly exists!

savethecactus · 12/02/2022 09:57

Thanks for all of these suggestions. I'm going to google them all, read the reviews and work out which is affordable.

Definitely try the Lipstick Queen ones - I tried it on a whim when they were saying about the colour matching suiting all skin tones, but have repurchased because of how moisturising it is (can use it instead of a lip balm, which is unheard of with my dry lips) and also the colour really stains and even lasts randomly overnight! I've only tried the pink (green) tube one but there are a few shades. Pre Covid you could try the different shades in Space NK, not sure if you still can.

GettingStuffed · 13/02/2022 21:03

I use a lil oil under lipstck.

SD1978 · 13/02/2022 21:05

The 8 hour cream by Elizabeth Arden is pretty good and not too clumpy. Not a huge range of shades though.

JemimaTiggywinkle · 13/02/2022 21:06

Charlotte tilbury are really moisturising but stay put as well.

sofakingcool · 13/02/2022 21:39

In case anyone is interested, ASOS have the full sized Mac lipsticks reduced to £12.50 at the moment, I ordered myself the Teddy one, and used a code (XOXO) which took it down to £10 today!

Hoping it'll be good, it's the one my mark up artist used at my wedding many moons ago..

Maybelline 24 lipstick
Agreed!

I got an Occitaine one in a gift pack. It’s surprisingly good, lasts really well and very moisturising. I can’t speak to colours, but the formulation really is excellent.
