The perfect pair of work trousers

I need new trousers for work. I'm 5'7", size 14/16 with all my weight being on my hips, stomach and boobs. I also have the lovely c section apron to contend with. My waist is comparatively slim and my legs are slim and quite long.
I did have some trousers a couple of years ago that tied at the waist and created a sort of frill above at waist height and they were very flattering but I've not seen anything similar recently.
Length wise I don't mind full length or slightly shorter.
Hopefully you stylish lot can help.

I’m also searching. Cos has some lovely trousers but I suspect they are all too long so I need to go and try loads on. I already have a cropped barrel leg pair so I’m looking for a contrast to those.
The ones you describe are probably paper bag trousers if that helps by the way.

The tie front type of trousers are called ‘paper bag trousers’ and a Google image searches shows quite a lot of this style available at various shops.

You could also look at eBay / Vinted / Depop for a second hand pair if you remember the brand you had before. That’s a good way to replace long-lost clothes, and also find higher-quality items at better prices.

Thanks for the heads up re paper bag trousers to search for. Never heard of those before. Sadly I can't recall where I got the other pair from

Spanx do great black trousers.

M&S do these high waisted crepe wide leg trousers. I have 2 pairs. Not only do they not crease but the material seems to hide a lot of sins. They go in the washing machine.

Yes to the M&S ones. I wear them in Winter with tights underneath. Honestly I had not worn trousers to work for years due to being a pear shape. I then found wide leg trousers and wonder why I hadn't tried them sooner.

Good old Matalan do a wide range of trousers offering different styles and leg lengths, etc…
I’m currently loving their black, bootcut, Reg length, washable trousers - so versatile - dress up or down! (and cheap)!!! £14.50 bargin!
