Buying Dr Martens online

Would you be able to help

I want to order some black Dr Martens for every day wear. I'm a standard shoe size 6 in converse and vans and any thing else pretty much. What size dr M do I buy and can any one recommend a style? Thanks.

I absolutely love my Sinclairs in the soft black leather. I often recommend them but no one bites because they don’t look as good when not being worn. The zip is really helpful too.

Is there a reason why you want to buy online?

I would suggest trying on in the shop and then buying online if you can get them cheaper that way

If you can't/don't want to go to the shop then ignore me !

I’m an 8 and I wear a 7. They’re the only brand I size down in.

However, their Audrick Chelsea boots are truer to size, so I needed an 8 in them.

We don’t live anywhere near I store, so I usually order a few of styles in both sizes to make sure.

True to size imo. I have the pascals which are a softer textured leather and I love them.

Ordered 1460s in size 5 - looked like clown boots, way too big (I'm a 5), so ordered 4 and couldn't get them on.

I will have to go into store and try

Styles would also depend on foot width. I can't wear the classic shape as too narrow and the seam where tongue is attached hurts my foot.

I can't go into a store as it's an hour away and I'm too busy to make the journey for one thing 😩

I've got two pairs of Docs in Pascal leather and I get that same pain across the top of my foot too. I have found that it helps if you run a hairdryer on it before putting the boots on, which has a softening effect, and also they sell socks now which can help.

I find most styles of Dr Martens true to size, unless you have a particularly narrow or wide foot.

I had the pain over the top of my foot too but only on one foot, wore them for a week or so and now they're my most comfortable shoes / boots EVER. The leather does stretch.

Pascal is the soft leather. It is thinner than the other leathers and although it is soft it hurts my feet across the top when I wear the boots. I have two pairs - one of them I've had for years and one new pair. Be prepared for pain and if you don't have any then you are blessed !

All my DM’s are true to size and I am a 7. I have the Gaucho, Chelsea and bottle green lace up ones (can’t remember the style). I get them online from DrMartens or Schuh online. Same for the kids ones. Returns are straightforward.

Both DD and I have pairs - DD has 2, one of which is I think pretty much those, in the green - and they are all true to our normal foot size.
