Where to buy earrings from?

Where do stylish people buy earrings from these days?

I'm early 40s, I like to think I'm better dressed than some of my contemporaries but I'm hardly an avid follower of fashion.

My style is vaguely edgy / rock / retro but not heavily.

I am after something a bit more interesting than whatever treats Accessorize has to offer these days. I'd probably balk at spending more than £20 on a pair unless precious metal, but where can I get a few pairs of interesting, stylish, not too try-hard earrings to brighten up a boring work outfit?

Asos, regal Rose, rock and rose, Olivia Burton, eclectic eccentricity

NarcissistsEyebrows · 09/02/2022 20:57

Ooh lovely, thanks. I'll look them up pronto.

Try Etsy, there's always really creative people on there selling jewellery.

evilharpy · 09/02/2022 21:12

& Other Stores have some nice ones.

NarcissistsEyebrows · 09/02/2022 21:13

@hartof I always forget Etsy Blush thanks for the reminder

@Francescaisstressed I love eclectic eccentricity but not the rest. However since ee's jewellery is lovely and just perfect, I'm very chuffed

I'm not sure if Monica Vinader would fit the bill? They have some gorgeous pieces

NarcissistsEyebrows · 09/02/2022 22:01

I jist checked out Monica Via Derby and the prices are higher than I'm ready for, thankfully I didn't fall in love with any designs either! Thanks for the idea though

Have you heard of trend tonic?

Quantity5 · 09/02/2022 22:08

Crafty places. Love these - lightweight and lovely.

I nearly like trend tonic brunei (nice name!) but the colours are a tiny bit bright for me. 15 years ago yes, but I think I'm keener on metal colours now rather than those amazing shades. I like the si ple shapes though.

I do like those quantity. Again they might be a tiny bit too much but some of them are definitely contenders...and great prices Grin

I've seen some lovely earrings by different sellers on Not on Amazon facebook group. Victoria Tyler is one and reasonably priced imo. Disclaimer, I am probably one of those contemporaries you dress considerably better than Grin

Oliver Bonas - I’m mid 40s

cannaethink · 10/02/2022 16:20

I second Etsy! My wish list is huge!

Latara · 10/02/2022 16:29

I just went on the other earring thread too.

Currently buy my (usually gold plated often on silver) earrings from:

Orelia

Miss Audrey (Etsy)

And a surprise is Six at Tesco, selling on trend gold plated sterling silver earrings.

I'm 45; have my ears pierced twice, like to wear 1 pair of small geometric or gem studs with a pair of varying sized hoops, or long chain drop earrings. Or another pair of studs for work as a care assistant.

1frenchfoodie · 10/02/2022 19:58

Thanks for the link @Quantity5 - I bought a pair of her earrings (love the idea of aluminium to keep weight down) and a couple of otger things from the site which was new to me.

Quantity5 · 10/02/2022 20:05

Glad you liked it. It’s a great shop and the earrings are great. I find heavier ones hard to bother with these days

NarcissistsEyebrows · 10/02/2022 23:10

I feel an earring binge coming on...

Opium have some beauties

I'm looking for silver everyday earrings , with a bit of a drop, on hoops or that clasp shut properly- I like to put earrings in and forget about them but they must be secure enough to not come out when I'm swimming & ok to sleep in. No hooks or studs. Seems to be a big ask.

IvorCutler · 16/06/2022 18:22

I also really like & other stories for earrings. They’re much kinder on my ears than other brands at a similar price range.

mrssmiling · 16/06/2022 18:40

Museum shops are worth a look for interesting earrings. Some quite expensive, but there are some cheaper ones.
