Magic tricks to keep a curl in my hair

Hello all,

I have fine hair cut into a long Bob. I can curl it fine and it looks beautiful for about half hour then the curls drop out and I look like I've been dragged through a bush.

I straighten it most of the time but would like to have big waves/curls for the weekend.

Anybody recommend any products, hints or magic tricks to make the curls/ waves stay in?

Thanks

Following as I’m similar 😂

The hairdresser for my sister's wedding used dry shampoo, hairspray, and told me to stay away from naked flames Grin

Your hair needs to be the right texture to help a curl hold. Not too shiny and soft, so avoid conditioner with silicone. Try hair spray and maybe some baking powder/hair powder on the roots to give it lift. Mine is naturally curly and if it's too soft, it's a bad hair day. Good luck!

So I curl it then cover with hairspray straight after? Are we talking a lot of hairspray here?

I went to a wedding once and a friend's hair was beautifully shiny and curly. I couldn't resist touching it and it was rock hard, sprayed within an inch of its life.

When you curl put a hair grip in to keep the curl in place. When the hair is cooled you can take the grip out.

Something to do with science which I'm not sure about but it will keep the curl better if it's cold when you release the curl.

I'll try the mousse, hair grip and a whole can of hairspray this weekend. If that doesn't work, I am doomed to a life of straggly hair.

Thanks all
