Compression leggings for working out/lifting

I'm now increasingly lifting weights with my PT and also alone, and wondering about investing in some compression leggings for working out in. Is it worth it? Anyone got any they rate?

Also: do the Sweaty Betty Power leggings count as compression? I'm saving up some reward points from work and considering investing in a pair, but lord they are not cheap.

I'm not going to be a lot of help because mine haven't arrived yet so I can only tell half a story here, but if you do decide to get some I'd recommend a look on eBay. I got a BNWT pair on there yesterday for £44 plus postage and I've had a couple of really good gym tops too 😀.

Thanks @SocksAndTheCity! Are those the SB leggings or a different compression one?

Sorry, yes they are - mine are the Zero Gravity highwaisted leggings with 'compression technology'!

I also currently wear some M&S compression leggings which I've had for years, and they're excellent quality (lifting, running, yoga etc). I don't know what their activewear is like now, though.

What is the purpose of compression leggings? I can review the SB power leggings are excellent!

What is the purpose of compression leggings?

They support your muscles when you're working out, reduce soreness and improve blood flow. Or that's the theory anyway. I haven't tried them, but it's a common thing for people who are serious about weights and/or training.

Turns out the SB Power leggings do count as compression leggings so I think I'll invest. I'm feeling really good about my workouts right now and I wear workout leggings more days than not so I can fit one in while WFH. Also my back muscles are cross with me right now because I overdid it with a kettlebell yesterday, so if I can reduce that...
