Nice warm socks that aren't too chunky and don't fall down

Do they exist?

I want warm socks to wear with trainers (NOT trainer socks) or boots when I walk the dog.

I don't want them so chunky my shoes feel too small, and I don't want them to gently sag during my walk until they're halfway under my foot.

Any recommendations very welcome!

M&S sumptuously soft or heatgen thermal socks. I also like their cotton rich thermal socks but they are quite thick.

M&S thermal school socks. They have them in navy, black or grey. I buy the navy in size 4-7, I think a three pack is about £8. They’re really warm but not at all chunky.

My basic blacks ones are warm but fit fine in my walking shoes, my more expensive ones only fit in my proper walking boots

I came on to say M&S thermal socks too. Really annoying as I don't really shop in M&S and would like to be able to buy a cheap pack but I have size 8 feet and apparently weird shaped ankles/calves because womens socks anywhere else are either too big so fall down, or too tight so dig in and leave red bands around my ankle.

These bamboo socks are the best I have ever had, not the cheapest but they are worth it in my opinion!

Alpaca socks - the everyday ones are thin and the warmest softest socks I've ever had
They are warm without being sweaty and so soft .
Loads of places to get them, I got mine from a local alpaca farm but they sell in places like thealpacashop.uk/product-category/alpaca-socks/

I'm wearing Bridgedale Merino socks right now, and they are perfect. Not thick but cosy, and they stay on properly even in wellies
