I'm slightly embarrassed that I don't know this as I have been living with a pair of lovely 36 GGs for many years but....
What shape bra is best?
Minimisers seem to push them into my armpits, they spill over the top of a balcony, wobble about in a plunge and full cups make them into pointy granny boobs. I seem to be forever searching for the right bra!
I'd like a little cleavage and nice shape but not too busty for day to day. I have some 'going out bras' they hoik them up for a good shape but they aren't right for normal life.
Help!

Beavissimo's Alana bra is my every day go to for my Js

However I think everyone's boobs are different so it might be worth trying a few on and seeing what suits you best

I definitely recommend Bravissimo as a first port of call though

WouldIBeATwat · 07/02/2022 14:16

There’s a website that makes recommendations based on shape as well as size. Bear with and I’ll check.

Wizzbangfizz · 07/02/2022 14:17

I'd second the Alana bra

WouldIBeATwat · 07/02/2022 14:20

I’m a HH/J and don’t like the Alana. I’m Panache Jasmine gal.

32G/30H and second Panache Jasmine. I like the Envy too (also Panache), but I think it's all down to shape - there's no substitute for just trying loads on IME.
NarcissistsEyebrows · 07/02/2022 15:13

Ahh interesting that Alana deniers like Panache bras - I can't stand Panache! I've tried a few and even bought a couple in the past, but while they look good for the trying on stage, once I've spent half an hour in them I'm cursing and trying to rip them off. Whereas the Alana is comfy but shapely all day long.

I think you're going to have to order each OP and see which suit you best

WineGetsMeThroughIt · 07/02/2022 15:19

Not heard of Alana bras, but I'm team Panache all the way. Been every size under the sun from a 34HH while pregnant and now a 30FF. No matter my weight / size the only bras that have fit me right are the panache ones. Can you go to Bravissimo to try some on?

curiouscatgotkilled · 07/02/2022 15:42

Thanks all, at least we have just got two front runners! I will try them both, I've got a panache envy and it's not very comfortable but I'll try the other one. I do need to just try a load on don't I.

Bravissimo all the way - the ladies there are really knowledgeable and friendly (unlike M&S). They will sort you out!

Tinkles78 · 07/02/2022 16:08

I'm a GG and Freya moulded bras seem to be the best shape for me, rounded and up front!

GrendelsGrandma · 07/02/2022 16:15

There's no answer to that, everyone's boobs are different. Two women with the same size will not be an identical shape. You just need to get yourself to a decent shop (Bravissimo) and try a load on.

And get measured. Most women wear the wrong size and just get a bigger back size if their bras stop fitting, whereas they probably need the same back size but a bigger cup size.

GrendelsGrandma · 07/02/2022 16:17

But for what it's worth - I go with full cups, when you're a substantial cup size I think you need a full enclosure!

WouldIBeATwat · 07/02/2022 16:22

Ooh no. I don’t like full cup bras at all.

Icantgetalifeifmyheartsnotinit · 07/02/2022 16:25

I've never been able to find a lightly padded bra that is comfortable for my 34GG's. The padding is essential! I've even been told in several shops that I should give up the ghost and go for non padded but my boobs have always been big so the padding needs to drag them from around my navel.

ShowMeTheSugar · 07/02/2022 16:27

I love the panache sports bra worn as a normal bra. It's comfortable and supportive

FlamingRoses · 07/02/2022 16:32

Full cup. Makes you feel 80, but I can only wear full cups. Wired.

ImprobablePuffin · 07/02/2022 19:00

May not be the most stylish but MOLKE changed my life. Amazing bras!

ImprobablePuffin · 07/02/2022 19:01

How interesting you say that because I feel the opposite - it's the first time I haven't felt like my boobs were round my knees, improved posture made me feel a lot younger rather than older
ImprobablePuffin · 07/02/2022 19:02

Sorry I read makes you as Molke 😂🤦🏼‍♀️

FlamingRoses · 07/02/2022 20:58

@ImprobablePuffin true! But not very sexy!

Crayfishforyou · 07/02/2022 21:51

I go for moulded cups. I’ve got a small back size and a large cup and I need all the support my poor back can get. Most of mine are t shirt but I’ve had some that are balcony.
Honestly if you can, just go to a bravissimo and try on EVERYTHING.
In the whole shop I found just two that fit Sad
But it was two more than I had already.

woodhill · 07/02/2022 21:55

I like Panache Envy and Andorra, also Fantasy, balcony or full cup for me

Wizzbangfizz · 07/02/2022 23:22

My boobs are enormous and I feel like moulder bras make them even bigger!
