Ideas for red hair?

I have naturally red hair - it's not really ginger, much darker.
I'm fed up of it and would like to dye it - I know it's difficult to go lighter but does anyone have the same and what have you done?

Highlights/ balayage etc?

Red hair is v pretty.
If you had highlights you'll be a warm golden blonde. I like it but most prefer ashy blondes.
Also watch out for the wear and tear bleach results in. Ask for Olaplex when they're bleaching and invest in good stuff to use at home.

I think blonde balayage on red hair is beautiful. I always think about a girl I sat behind on the bus years ago who had just that. It was so soft and shiny and perfect. Best hair I’ve ever seen.

I have highlights in my auburn hair. The colour is a lighter auburn/coppery colour. Just looks like the sun has lightened it. My highlights are balayage ish and very natural looking. Although I sometimes make it much lighter at the very ends and dye it pinky rose gold.
