Why are my Levi's doing this

Weird marks. Getting worse, used to be a few but now there's more all over my thighs. I am not pegging them to dry, they hang on a clothes horse but as far as I can tell I don't think that would cause it.

Picture to come.....ooo....dun dun dun!

Are they stretchy? That looks like the Lycra has gone in those areas.

ToykotoLosAngeles · 06/02/2022 16:02

How hot do you wash them? Anything other than cold destroys the lycra eventually and patches go baggy.

NigellaSeed · 06/02/2022 16:11

30 degree wash with non bio. I think they only 5% elastic

I got them about 6 months ago and try to wear them for ages between washing

:(

Are they always like that afyer washing or is it from the last wash?

AnyFucker · 06/02/2022 16:30

Did you buy them online ? They don’t look like Levi’s, sorry. The puckering is poor quality material.

NigellaSeed · 06/02/2022 16:45

They started to get puckering after I'd had them for a couple of weeks. The puckering doesn't go away after being worn and is getting worse/more.

Got them from Levi's.com

Yes, my stretchy trousers do this when they get older. It's not reversible.

BreakingUpWithMyPhone · 06/02/2022 16:51

Ask for a refund - tell them when you got them, that you washed them according to the instructions, and that they're not fit for purpose

HelloMama · 06/02/2022 16:53

I got a pair of Levi's approx. 6m ago and the zip keeps undoing halfway. I've contacted the customer care and they've asked me to send them back (free of charge) so they can 'look into the matter'.... Not sure what I'm supposed to wear in the meantime (!) or what the outcome may be, but the customer services people have taken my complaint seriously so far, so it would be worth letting them know to see what they're going to do about it ? I was a bit fed up as bought them as an investment purchase as thought would much better than GAP etc, but perhaps not?!

NigellaSeed · 06/02/2022 16:57

Yeah, thanks, I'll get in touch with them.

I agree, I think they were expensive so I thought they'd last year's

I get years out of my levi's but they vary in quality and in fabric. What bugs me is the half-depth front pockets some of them have

ENoeuf · 06/02/2022 18:37

I had that with some jeans that were a tiny bit stretchy. Had to Chuck them, really annoying.

BrownTableMat · 06/02/2022 18:50

I bought a pair of Levi’s (from their website) that went all streaky on the first wash (30 degrees non bio) and they were 501s so no Lycra. Sent them back and got a refund.

BusterGonad · 06/02/2022 19:03

I've had that with 2 pairs of jeans, at the same time, I put it down to weight gain on my thighs (sorry) or washing them on 40 and then tumble drying them. Since then I've bought some new ones (same brand) and wash at 30 and I have never tumble dried them. No stretching etc.

IvorCutler · 06/02/2022 19:16

Op does not look like she has any excess weight on her thighs!

Definitely contact them, I’d be annoyed with that.

Nether do I, my legs are skinny, but I assumed it was that at the time (no scales) or the tumble drier.
isthismylifenow · 06/02/2022 19:27

I have a pair of Old Navy jeans that have done this. My two thoughts were that I've probably washed them too hot, tumbled dried them too long, or ironed them too hot.

OhFuckBloodyHell · 06/02/2022 19:33

Mine and DPs jeans do this, it's a mystery to me why. Mine have stretch, his don't. I only wash on 40 at maximum, I don't iron and don't own a tumble dryer. They did it with both my old, and my current washing machine.

BusterGonad · 06/02/2022 19:38

I think that the less elastin the better. My current jeans are 1% elastin 99% cotton, and they are doing fine. Slightly stretched on the waist band as I get them tight so they fit well on my legs and bum, all my weight is on my tummy.
