Thank you

The brand Jessicurl is entirely protein free iirc, it's on the heavy side though a little goes a long way.

Naughty wave hello shampoo
Bounce curl clarifying shampoo
Bounce moisture balance leave in conditioner
Garnier argan & almond cream mask
Kinky curly curling Custard

Pick ui reminding me of these that are also protein free:

Kinky Curly leave in conditioner (a lot lighter and great slip/detangling, can also be used as a conditioner)
Bounce clump cream (great for curl definition, use very little of it, like a rice grain's worth)
Ecoslay orange marmalade

I would caution with ecoslay (and whatever other products contain them) for some people flaxseed and aloe vera have similar unpleasant results that they get with protein.

My hair is naturally wavy but wear it straight can I still use “curly” products

Coconut can also do this.

@AllTheWeetabix my hair was also wavy and always straightened it. I honestly don’t think it matters if it says for ‘curly’ hair. I can get some lovely curls now, not sure if it’s visible in photo 2. It took a long time though and lots of product trial and errors.

You can but obviously the curl enhancing styling products wouldn't be a great choice, shampoo and conditioner should be no problem and like any other. A lot of blow dry creams/products tend to have protein in though, I wouldn't know of one without protein off the top of my head. I have blow dried my hair straight-ish (slightest wave at the ends) with the bounce curl clump cream but it probably isn't the obvious choice and I can't really remember how well it held beyond the first day tbh but curl enhancing products tend to reactivate with exposure to water or humidity so it would likely encourage some wave over time.

IME though protein in styling products are different to those in shampoo and conditioner, they tend to be larger (molecular size) so they sit on top of the hair shaft and close in any gaps (from damage) and don't affect it the same way as smaller sized protein do when there's too much of it and makes my hair frazzled from the inside out for lack of a better description.
