Mango…what’s their sizes like?

Please can anyone tell me what Mango sizing is like? Is it like Zara & most of their stuff comes up small? Or is it pretty much true to size?

Small xl is a small 14

PAFMO · 05/02/2022 21:14

Very small. More so than Zara.

Very, very small!!

For me I find them quite generous. I'm a 14 to 16 (Oasis 16, Joanie 16, Zara XL/16, Esprit 16). I have big boobs (34FF or G) and a big waist but slim bum, hips, legs and arms. I'm a Goblet shape. 95% of my Mango clothes are a XL/14. Some jeans a may need a XXL/16 but I'd rather go smaller so they fit my legs and bum. Their plan cotton everyday Tshirts I wear a L/12 as I don't want them boxy and baggy. Their thick cotton tshirts I wear a XL/14. Dresses I'm a XL/14 unless it's fitted, I recently bought a shirts dress in a XXL/16 as the XL/14 was just so tight on me. Oversize knits a go to a L/12. I do have a few shirts dresses in a L/12 but the style was quite baggy and I prefer a more fitted look as baggy just makes me look huge due to having big boobs.

There sizing says XL is a 12-14 but I would say its a generous 14, I am a 12 or 14 in most brands and recently bought some tops and jumpers in an XL wanting them slightly baggy and they drowned me. I had to swap them for an L which was still large enough to have a slightly oversized fit.

I’m a 10/12 and need Large size in Mango dresses but M in knitwear. You need to try on really as it’s quite random

XL is a 14. The size equivalents are on the paper price tag.

On the basis its one of the few places I can reliably find clothes to fit, I'd say its on the small side (I'm 5ft/size 6-8).

Eg I managed to buy a midi dress in an XS which actually fit on the sleeves, waist position, hips, shoulders etc. Was just a bit long in length.

BUT as others have said, depends on the type of clothing - eg boxy/oversized cuts in tops are much bigger.

I am a 14 and find them small but I carry extra weight on my tummy which exacerbates it. Mango Violeta (curve) starts at a 12 but the cut is more suited to those of us with extra bits.

Seainasive · 08/02/2022 14:42

It is very very short on the body.

VanGoghsDog · 08/02/2022 15:19

I ordered a Mango dress from JL, I'm a 14 in most brands (sometimes 12 in FatFace) and a 34F (which bumps up the size). I wasn't expecting it to fit as I've always found their stuff comes up small.

It arrived and it's an XL, and it's too big 🤦🏻‍♀️

I like it so I can't decide whether to exchange it or get it taken in.

Billandben444 · 08/02/2022 19:20

... and you need cocktail sticks for arms

TakeMe2Insanity · 08/02/2022 19:24

You need to buy the next size up to your normal as the sizing runs small.

PurplePansy05 · 08/02/2022 19:27

Would you say the same about their coats, so go size up?
