Are these just normal jeans? With a normal waist somewhere on the waist? I'm getting so confused. I sweat they changed all the names again. I don't want skinny fit. Preferably elasticy.

Normally light blue and oversized, sometimes flared

Ah OK thanks. I saw some in next but they looked cropped. So now I'm confused. Flared sounds good.

The style is high waisted, slightly lose around the hips/thighs and tapered at the ankle.

Marmm · 05/02/2022 20:08

But does the waist sit anywhere? I'm looking for a waist that sits at my waist but sure what that is called!

@busyeatingbiscuits Cross posted sorry! Thank you!

I've got some Mom jeans from Next. They're really flattering. Mine are Khaki. They are cropped though.

MindBodyChocolate · 05/02/2022 20:12

Mom jeans aren’t flared. They’re high waisted, relaxed over thigh and then tapered usually to ankle length or slightly cropped.

busyeatingbiscuits · 05/02/2022 20:13

They are very comfy (except cold ankles in winter) but not sure how flattering they are to be honest!

That sounds like the ones I saw in next. Do you know what style is exactly the same but not tapered or slightly cropped?

Flattering not an issue just want them to fit over my ridiculous hips and not fall down and show off my bum when I'm gardening.

I think you're looking for straight leg

M&S Harper might not be a bad shout

No problem, OP. Smile Happy to help. It's been fun updating my jeans wardrobe after 10 years of skinnies.

This is what I associate with it. And it definitely does not flatter anyone at ALL
IWasFunBeforeMum · 05/02/2022 20:43

M&S Harper is a good style. I think the mom jeans look too baggy and slouchy for me.

cheapskatemum · 05/02/2022 20:50

I bought a pair of M&S Mum jeans and think they are flattering. I've an hourglass figure, so the high waist sits snugly at my waist and the width at the hips follows the shape of my hips. I bought the long length because I don't like cold ankles. I can see that the cropped version might make one's legs appear shorter, because it breaks the line of sight. They really remind me of jeans I wore in the early 80s (old gimmer).

Marmm · 05/02/2022 21:16

I've found some 90s style straight legs that should hopefully do the job thanks everyone. Mumsnet to the rescue!
