Can anyone recommend a hand cream for really dry hands? The skin around my ring and pinky fingers on both hands is so dry it cracks in big crevices and bleeds frequently. I feel like I've tried everything! It's so sore and can be quite itchy at times.
I've tried to attach photos to show how awful it is.

gosh they look sore, id go for Neutrogena to tackle the cracks, you may even need a steroid cream to heal.

IzzyD0ra · 05/02/2022 13:16

Body shop Hemp hand cream.

FreddieDeLaHay · 05/02/2022 13:28

This! £2.50 from Avon, it was reccomended on a hand cream thread a few weeks ago.
It is tremendous stuff.
I put a blob on at bedtime and then a 5p ish size bit on a morning. My hands are lovely and soft and smooth

I think you might need something from the Dr for the cracks, you don't want to put anything fragranced or whatnot on them its going to irritate more.

LivingDeadGirlUK · 05/02/2022 13:33

Sorry not Dr, pharmacist :)

StillSmallVoice · 05/02/2022 13:38

Eucerin.

vjg13 · 05/02/2022 13:44

I think a 1% hydrocortisone ointment or cream from a pharmacy.

Happy36 · 05/02/2022 14:47

When you have fixed the skin with a dedicated product, Nuxe honey hand cream is great for every day use, keep one beside the bathroom and kitchen sink and in your handbag. Cotton gloves over the top of a rich moisturiser when you're sleeping or doing something like folding laundry, tidying up, reading or watching TV. Get a hand gel that includes à moisturiser.

Working Hands. Green tub, about £5 from Amazon. Miraculous.

Teaforme123 · 05/02/2022 14:51

I use nursem hand cream. It's quite pricey but absolutely brilliant on my eczema prone hands. One huge bottle lasts absolutely ages as well, it's also got barrier properties so it doesn't wash off.

Inthesameboatatmo · 05/02/2022 15:16

They look super sore op.
Boots eczema cream in the tube is good. Vasaline after application at night to really lock in the cream.

Sunnyday321 · 05/02/2022 18:33

@Teaforme123

I bought Nursem for my eczema hands but for me , it didn't work for me sadly .

LadyEloise1 · 05/02/2022 18:46

A few days after you've cleared the eczema try Eucerin 10% Urea Foot cream on your hands.

Lightning020 · 05/02/2022 19:09

Aveeno hand cream.

Mufflette · 05/02/2022 19:12

La Roche Posay Cicaplast Mains. It's designed to repair and protect the skins barrier.

eurochick · 05/02/2022 19:13

My hands crack in winter. I've tried a lot of hand creams and think l'occitane Shea butter is the best available.

GiveMyHeadPeaceffs · 05/02/2022 19:14

@IzzyD0ra

Body shop Hemp hand cream.
I second this, it's really good.
ChardonnaysPetDragon · 05/02/2022 19:15

Aquaphor.

YeOldePotato · 05/02/2022 19:26

I get this.

The hand creams that work the best quickest after years of extensive research:

Dr Keefes working hands
Aquaphor with cotton gloves at night
Real hard-core which also helps with eczema is E45 itch relief cream which is urea and has like an anti itching thing in it.

Body Shop Hemp absolutely aggravated mine

Honestly the best hand cream I've ever tried is Aldis Lacura Intensive, unfragranced. Wee drop every night before bed, best thing ever!

Marmm · 05/02/2022 20:06

@Ionlydomassiveones

I don’t use it but my DH had really dry rough cracked hands and has tried loads - neutrogenia, okeefes, body shop hemp etc. he says the absolute best one is l’occitane.
Oh yes Locitane shea is lovely. Bit spendy.
tangone · 05/02/2022 22:53

L’occitane Shea is better then body shop hemp. Is more expensive but lasts longer.

freckledsloth · 05/02/2022 23:00

The Aldi Lacura intensive hand cream has worked wonders on my hands, which were in a right state. Pretty sure it's a Neutrogena dupe but at a fraction of the price.
