Have been invited to accompany my boss to a work dinner (retiral of faculty head) in a few weeks time
Its being held in the atrium of one of the university buildings so not a five star hotel evening dress kind of event
I'm late 40s 5ft4 size 16 pear shape with wobbly mum tum. Pale skin and blonde hair so look good in red/black/pink - green makes me look jaundiced and hate brown/yellow/orange
I also have to travel 40 mins each way by public transport and its freezing here
I do have a decent pair of fancy going out shoes and several smart coats and jackets but don't know what to wear
My usual work uniform is a shift dress with floaty short kimono or smart trousers with slouch blazer.
Need to add I'm on a self-imposed tight budget as well. Please help!!
