Duvet coat- how to style

My eldest plays football so as a result I spend hours freezing watching. Tesco had duvet coats in the sale so I took the plunge. It is amazing, I love it- but I’m worried about looking an idiot in a trendy coat when the rest of me isn’t trendy!

I’m late 30s, I wear leggings and dresses or jeans and long sleeve t shirts. I normally wear knee length country boots for hockey, but I do have some smarter knee length chunky boots, or brown suede ankle boots.

Will I look like a knob? Or do I just need to embrace it and be happy that I’m finally warm?

I am not sure duvet coats are trendy but, as a fellow sporty parent, just embrace the warmth!

I wouldn't worry about trying to be trendy - it's a duvet coat after all.

Just embrace the warmth.

Isn't that kind of the joy of duvet coats? That you don't need to be trendy because the majority of you is covered up, so you just embrace being warm and dry Grin

Or at least that's what I do anyway!

I’d say wear the duvet coat with the leggings/trainers/casual stuff. The suede boots and smarter clothes is likely to look a bit of a mish-mash!

Hockey should be watching, no idea what kind of typo that is Blush

Thanks ladies, I’ll embrace the warmth and stop worrying!

Just add a nice Pom Pom hat and scarf , job done.

My late 30s trendy friend recently turned up to meet me in a duvet coat and underneath she was wearing black leggings and a camouflage hoodie.

It wasn't my style but I'm not trendy and she is, so I'd hazard a guess that it's an example of what to aim for.

Definitely not with smart shoes. Trainers, or flat winter boots.

Leggings or jeans (I'm going to say skinny but I'm sure others will disagree!) on the tiny bit of leg poking out of the bottom.
