Unwanted inverted bob

I recently went to the hairdressers and the stylist chopped my collar bone length hair into a sort of short inverted bob when I had actually asked for a trim. I hate it as a style on me and I would never have chosen it as I was actually growing my hair out. The problem is I have no idea how to actually style it. If you have this haircut what do you do to style it e.g products or methods? I’m at a loss but need to figure something out until it grows 😭

Oh no, it’s not a cut I’m keen on either.
I had to go via this when growing out a pixie so the things that spring to mind are:
Changing the parting
Using powder spray to mess it up
Use straighteners to create some small waves
All of the above

Oh god I had exactly this about six months ago. Exact same thing. I was also growing mine out and wanted a trim, but she cut it super short at the back with little flappy, awful, straggly bits at rhe front. It was dreadful. The back was about 4 inches shorter than the front and it was not 'me' at all

Anyway, I actually went back to the hairdressers and they evened it up a bit for me. It was then a more even, jaw length bob, which I liked a lot more, even though it was too short. It has grown out a lot now and it looks a lot better. Still too short at the back, but can't be helped really.

You could do a lessy half ponytail/little bun which would then hide the (I think we're all agreed) slightly hideous style.

Eat well and don't batter your hair with heat, to help it grow, then in 4-6 weeks you can get the front trimmed and look more chic.

I really want to write an open letter to hairdressers saying, unless we expressly say we would love an inverted bob, please don't do it! Ditto mullets

Can you clip the front back in a mini quiff?

Also consider having the front a bit shorter like a pp said.

Thanks for all the advice! I think the half up will do the trick for a few weeks until I get it cut back to one length.
