Q about tret and SPF use

Milomonster · 03/02/2022 07:54

Following the Skin+Me thread, I succumbed to a trial of tret. I have never used SPF on a daily basis, but I know I must whilst using tret. Please could someone shed light on how often you need to top up the SPF, and how you manage it with make-up?

I don’t worry about topping it up unless I’m in a very hot place, even then SPF 50 seems to protect all day, as long as you put enough on. Some purists would say you do need to top up regularly.

I like this product if I feel I need a top up

I use the Nivea SPF50 in the morning under make up as a moisturiser. I don't reapply as my exposure to the sun is absolutely minimal at the moment - I leave the house before the sun comes up and come home after dark. I work in a shop and pop out at lunchtime occasionally. In fact I see so little sun I take max strength vitamin D supplements.

Unless it's summer or you're out for extended periods without a hat/hood you'll be fine

I think finding an SPF that works under your make up is key in the first place. I like the Nivea one as it sinks in and is t greasy or chalky looking.

I don't top it up during the day. I put it on once in the morning and that's it

This is the one I've been using and it's been pretty good so far. No sticky residue and I don't need added moisturiser. Then just make up if you wear that and it's been fine

Garnier SPF50
