How to style a vile polyester polo shirt for work?

Please can you stylish lot help me with some outfit / styling suggestions?

I have a work polo shirt that must be worn, and all other aspects of my work wardrobe is my own choice (but no obvious branding).

The polo shirt is black with thick red panels down the sides. It's polyester. It's vile!

My style is usually colourful (brights, leopard print etc). At weekends I'm v casual but I veer towards smartish at work.

I'm in marketing for a technical manufacturing business if that's relevant.

Please can you help me style this hideous top so I feel more like me?

At the moment I feel like I'm a scruffy 16yr old back working in Superdrug.

I tend to just wear black, black and more black with it, as I can't find a natural fit with the disgusting top and my normal style so I've kind of given up, but it's so depressing!

My job is great....the uniform is literally the only thing I don't like. Please help!

Red to match the panels?

I would be tempted to tailor it so it’s fitted

I’d wear one a size too small (if that’s possible for you to get) tucked into high waisted trousers. I think it would look good with white trousers, if not impractical. I can also see it working with leather trousers if that was professional enough. Are you able to wear a cardigan or blazer over it to cover the stripes?

When I've had polo shirts for events I've paired with high waist wide leg trousers (very flattering) and turned the collar up a bit at the back to make it look a bit more interesting. Also a chunky necklace that sits in the v bit.

Polyester though. Ugh. You can't change that.
