Serum question

I have loads of bottles of serum (sucker for a gwp)…but I have no idea how to use them!!! How much should you use at one time? They are 10ml bottles with funky droppers…(one is suzanne Kaufman vitamin c but I can’t find instructions anywhere)!!!

Ditto moisturizer - how much do you use???

I suppose the easiest question would be how long does a normal size pot (50ml) of moisturizer last you???

I just use a small drop of serum - enough to spread a thin layer on my whole face. There’s no point using more it will just take longer to dry and waste the products.
Same with moisturiser.. enough to cover your face.

Do you use it under moisturiser or over?

DedalusBloom · 02/02/2022 16:40

Serum goes next to your skin after cleansing. You can layer one or two but you probably won't see the benefit as much as just using one.

Most moisturiser is oil based and effectively forms a barrier on your skin so it's not as easy for serums to penetrate as it is the other way round.

Vit c serum is much of a muchness. You can use it an or pm but not together with retinol or acids. Moisturiser on top.

I use it ( vit c) in the morning under spf as I alternate retinol and acids at night.

For best results Vit C is a morning serum as it protects the skin from air pollution and offers some protection against UVA light. Some people use moisturizer as well, some don't need it. Moisturizer goes on top.
What other serums have you got? Unless they've got specific active ingredients you can use them whenever and with whatever.
