I’ve never been into fashion but did at least try when I was younger.

I now havnt been out for around 5 years other than walking and work.

I’ve been invited out to two events in feb and I’m going to crufts in March. What do people wear??

Event 1 - birthday lunch, day time
Event 2 - valentines meal with DH
Event 3 - massive dog show

I’m 5ft 10 so don’t like heels. Please dress me!?

Thanks everyone, I’m picking that dress up this afternoon and a couple of new pairs of jeans so we’ll see if the dress makes me look whale-like 😭

Still need some shoes though. What trainers are people wearing these days? I’m assuming my adidas work out trainers are not what people mean by “nice trainers”? 😂

@VickyEadieofThigh As soon as I pressed 'post' I suddenly thought I might have interpreted your comment wrongly. But I couldn't take it back!!

I’m be got some lovely New Balance trainers, see a lot of those around.

A lot of white trainers too. I wear mine with dresses or my ‘mom’ jeans which are just so comfy.

Oh, I know! I should've been more careful about what I said, something like "Just wear casual, nobody bothers to dress up" or some such.

Not being rude but I rarely wear dresses with knee high boots anymore as I think it looks dated. Maybe ankle boots.

LittleGwyneth · 02/02/2022 19:05

@gonnagetgoing it was pretty dated but it's coming back around now.

Crufts....the most comfortable shoes you own as you will be on your feet alot,I prefer light layers as some of the halls at the nec are warm other cold, also highly recommend a good back pack that way you can stuff your clothes in or more importantly all those amazing goodies you can get at crufts, have a fantastic day I'm sure you will love it 🐾

I'm similar height and would wear

  1. jeans & blouse with chunky loafers.
  2. dress & boots
  3. jeans, trainers, tshirt & chunky cardi.

Obviously March can be very cold so you may need layers & heavier coats.

Knee high boots are right back in particularly with midi length hemlines.

Definitely ankle boots. Knee high boots maybe coming back around, but they look clunky and just not dressy enough imo.
bindud · 05/02/2022 07:14

I disagree, the ankle boots in fashion are casual styles eg western & chunky chelsea so not dressy at all.
The safe neat ankle boot & dress is now a very pedestrian look imo.
