8 years old - oily hair

So starting to get some hormonal changes in my 8 year old. She doesn't like washing her hair (do any 8 year olds!!) but it's starting to get that lank greasy look within a few days.

We all use the same family shampoo and conditioner - ultimate blends in the brown packaging with the cocoa/chocolatey smell but I am happy to do a switch for everyone to use. Her hair is curly and although we do use shampoo I try to stick to silicone free products.
From what I remember formulations for specifically greasy hair can actually be quite harsh and stimulate more oil production - is that still the case?
Any recommendations for a gentle but effective shampoo and conditioner combination that the whole family can use? Ideally something supermarket price - we can't afford aveda type prices!!!

DS always wears swimming goggles to wash his hair. His looks greasy too if unwashed, but he will wash it every couple of days with his goggles on.

Thanks probably a solution for short haired boys but not i don't think that will work on long curly hair! the shower is the only time it can be combed when the conditioner is in and how would you rinse properly if the goggles are around the head... Also she needs to be able to do it herself - doesn't want mum helping her shower anymore...

Vosene.

I have oily hair, it produces oil just like skin I.E as much as it likes.

Child's farm are good and you can follow the curly girl method with their products. You may want a clarifying shampoo every few weeks.

I have very greasy hair or used to. I've found using a kids 2 in 1 has fixed it, conditioner by itself, even if just used on the ends is just too heavy for my hair. Another option would be to get her to switch so the conditioner is used first then the shampoo, that's what I do when I feel like the ends need some TLC.

Shampoo twice, then condition.

Thanks - tonight I'll do the conditioner before the shampoo as that is something we can try straightaway.
I've done the 2 shampoos already as I wondered if maybe she wasn't 'washing' her scalp well enough and it didn't seem to make any difference...
Will look out for Vosene and the child's farm ones on next shopping trip...

I've used vosene on my 8 year old DDs hair too and it comes out squeaky clean and shiny . I jump between that and some of the tea tree alberto balsam one. Always use garner hair food hair mask on her as she has notty hair .
