Dermatologist Appointment

After years of medications for my awful facial skin and scalp, my GP referred me to a dermatologist last year and the appointment is next week.

I have a folder in my phone of photos and have the NHS app to list the meds I’ve tried across the years.

I have quite prominent broken thread veins on both cheeks that my foundation (Estee Lauder DW) doesn’t properly conceal. In addition to the redness, I get painful cystic spots and daily whiteheads. My scalp is red raw with lumps and pustules.

Does anyone that has been to a dermatologist have any advice on the things I should be asking for? Is it likely they’ll just prescribe different medication, or might I receive treatment such as lasers for the veins?

Thanks.

They might look at isotretinoin

I was given isotretinoin, total game changer. Yes the broken veins are still there but they no longer bother me because my skin is clear and not full of, like you, painful lumps, pustules and grim pus.
