I'm trying to get myself into a better routine of self care in the mornings. Wondering what your usual grind of beauty routine is every morning? Hair, makeup, etc.

If I've showered at night then micellar water.

If I have the day off work then in my morning shower I use Dermalogica or Kate Somerville Exfolikate cleanser I have a few others but they're my current favourites

Then HA or followed by either Elemis day cream or Boots No 7 protect and perfect day cream then maybe a primer then make up.

QuizzicalEyebrows · 29/01/2022 14:04

I only use acids or manual exfoliators at night never in the morning.

I have a Dermalogica Vit C serum I'm going try out in the spring / Summer months. I haven't found a vit c my skin likes yet so fingers crossed

Scottishflower65 · 29/01/2022 14:06

Wash my face with cold water and pull my hair into a ponytail. SPF 50 on sunny days.

Glowtastic · 29/01/2022 14:13

I wash my face using the body shop camomile cleansing balm or a cleansing bar, then acid toner, serum, moisturiser, SPF 50. Just lip gloss, eyeliner and mascara. Occasionally a bit of BB cream. Try not to overload my skin.

Hair is a nightmare as so curly! Depends how it's behaving on the day. It often ends up in a bun.

hopeishere · 29/01/2022 14:24

Evening
REN wash
Mix of Drunk Elephant retinol mask / water mask / Clarins oil or a DE one. The best things I ever used were a Emma Hardie vit c serum and a Dr Gross retinol wipe thing.

Morning
Medik8 moisturiser

JoanThursday · 29/01/2022 14:32

Morning:
Wash face with cerave gel
Cerave moisturiser with spf. Separate spf in the spring/summer
Wash hair everyday, run mousse through it and dry in 3 mins (it's short).
Mascara if I can be arsed.

Evening:
Moisturiser and serum

Very couple of weeks (or when I remember)
REN glycolic face mask

bippityboppity87 · 29/01/2022 16:40

Hydraulic Acid serum
Moisturiser/spf

Makeup:
Collection concealer, light dab on any imperfections, spots etc
Collection bronze eyeshadow
Sometimes mascara Maybelline Sky High
Mac high lighter
NYX dewy setting spray

Hair:
Quick brush
L'Oréal wonder water

Skincare nighttime:

Shower

Chishnfips · 29/01/2022 16:48

Wash face with creme cleanser. If I'm staying mostly indoors like wfh I'd just use moisturiser if I'm going out I'd use spf. Brush hair and put up if I can be bothered. Make up is just blush and a bit of mascara.

XiCi · 29/01/2022 16:55

Morning skincare
Cleanser
AHA toner
Essence
Serum
SPF 50

Make-up
Primer
Foundation
Eyebrow pencil
Eyeshadow

Evening
Double cleanser
Skin + Me Tretinoin

LadyGoddiva · 29/01/2022 18:39

Morning
Shower, teeth, etc.
Apply body lotion

Use a warm wet flannel all over my face to cleanse.
Apply either serum and moisturiser or just moisturiser
Apply SPF 50
Make up - foundation, mascara, eye liner pencil, one single nude eyeshadow, blusher, lippy

Evening
Bath
Apply body lotion

Remove make up with LRP cleanser, double cleanse and use warm wet flannel to remove it.
Moisturise - sometimes serum, sometimes oil, sometimes just moisturiser.

shewhomustbeEbayed · 29/01/2022 22:15

I just had to come on to say that I start the day with Elemis original (yellow) cleansing balm, I rub a load on then use a hot cloth to remove. Every time it reminds me of Salvage Hunters the Restorers and the leather expert who uses a special cream to reinvigorate the leather, lol !
I then follow with Beauty Pie serum and moisturizer and it’s a really good base for some bb cream.

Sittinginthesand · 30/01/2022 07:56

Under an hour!! I’m aiming for under 5 mins! Wash face with tepid water and avene face wash if I think I need it.
Dry face with towel.
Contacts in
Moisturise with spf
Mascara
Concealer if I have a spot
Brush hair

Bath and hair wash before bed.

2holibobssofar · 30/01/2022 07:59

Shower at night. Water and flannel on face. ‘Simple’ moisturiser on face.
In morning get up, brush teeth, go.

AlDanvers · 30/01/2022 08:01

Shower, wash my face while I am in there.

Serum
Eye cream
Face cream
Body cream
Twice a week I do a face mask after the shower, while I make a coffee and fanny around.

Then i out some make up on. Cc Cream and just enough make up to dp the 'no make up, make up look'.

buddy79 · 30/01/2022 08:08

Morning and night - face wash, toner, serum, moisturiser. I use different washes and moisturisers morning and evening.

Make up - really light bit of foundation, eyebrow gel stuff, mascara, lipstick, which I also use as cream blush. Sometimes I do more eye make up if I feel like it!

I am doing curly girl with my hair so a lot if the time nothing or allowing it to air dry. Attempt to style fringe.

I would love to be one of those really minimal make up people but I do look a lot better (and feel better) with the help of at least a little bit of foundation ( I have a lovely one from ere Perez, more like a tinted moisturiser really) and lipstick - it just sort of lifts my face up.
Adding an eye serum to my routine recently seems to be slightly helping with my horrendous bags.
Takes about half an hour including shower, teeth etc

MrsTimRiggins · 30/01/2022 08:13

Depends really. The lines with the asterisk are those that are overlooked if I’m just staying at home/casual;
Shower
Apply hair oil and heat protection spray
Brush teeth
Cleansing balm/hot flannel
Moisturiser
*primer
Then go and either brush through wet hair and leave to dry if I’m leaving it curly or dry using my hairdryer brush thingy, finished with straighteners if it needs it, or curlers if I feel like it.
*foundation (tinted moisturiser if I am staying around home but still want to look a bit more polished)
*blusher or bronzer
Eyebrow pencil
*lipstick or lip cream
Eyeshadow - a very neutral bronzey colour for everyday, many other options for other looks
*eyeliner, kohl and/or liquid
Mascara
*setting spray

It’s always the hair that takes the longest tbh. If I’m leaving it curly, it’s a quick morning, even with a full face of make up.

Nights, always double cleanse with a cleansing balm (body shop camomile at the moment) then. Moisturise or gradual tanner, alternate each night.

MiddleParking · 30/01/2022 08:35

Morning:
3x a week - body shop exfoliating peel then camomile cleansing balm
Every day - exfoliating cleanser in the shower
Lip balm and a tiny bit of Daktarin at the corners of my mouth (I’m prone to angular chelitis and this prevents it)
Moisturiser
Serum
SPF
Eye drops

Full makeup day (only if I’m going out or to something special) - foundation, eyebrow wax and powder, eyebrow mascara, felt tip eyeliner, bronzer, blusher, highlighter, lip stuff of some kind, mascara, setting spray

Light makeup day - just brow wax and powder OR just eyebrow mascara depending how recently I tinted them, mascara, bronzer, lip and cheek tint

No makeup day (most of the time) - nothing! I tint my eyebrows overnight once every 3-4 weeks and that keeps me happy to usually wear nothing else.

Evening - camomile cleansing balm and a good scrub with lukewarm water and a facecloth
Lip balm
Night cream

My hair is a nightmare. I try to only wash it 3x a week whenever I can fit it in so usually in the evening at the moment as I’ve a newborn and a toddler, blast dry and straighten (this takes fucking ages and is exhausting as it’s so long and thick/frizz-prone), then just touch up each morning, but I’m rarely absolutely happy with how it looks. We all have our cross to bear.
