What's even in fashion??

Help please

After two years of lockdown I have actually a outing next week with friends who's 50th was on last year. We are going out in the city early (around 2 o clock)
I have bought nothing but over priced leggings in the last 2 years and I was never a fashionista even then..
I don't want to look too over dressed as it's a day event but what's even in fashion now! I was thinking blazer and skinny jeans ??
Any suggestions gratefully received . Happy to buy online as I've bought nothing at all in years
I'm 42 and a 12 if that's relevant!

The message on here re skinnies is that they're either out, or still in. Sounds fine to me get a nice top, or if you're like me trawl your wardrobe for something you forgot you had. Most of all though look confident.

I've heard that about skinnies alright but I honestly think some of the wide leg ones or mom jeans would look bonkers on me..

Loose dresses, dark tights and chunky flat boots. That's my dress up outfit. I'm 52 and a size 14.
