Have been WFH for the last 2 years but will be going back to the office in the coming months and am completely at a loss as to what is in style Confused

The dress code is smart casual and that basically means we wear jeans every day.

Help me - what is in style now and what should they be styled with?

If it helps I'm 5ft7 and a size 14 if that helps with what would suit me.

Thank you Smile

I wear black jeans to work quite often - I’m a lecturer and only in part time/part remote at the moment, but need to be warm because we have to have all the windows open “for ventilation”.

My standard outfits for being on campus are:

Black Levi’s 501 straight leg crops, with a tucked in blouse and a thermal layer underneath
Black barrel leg or balloon leg jeans (Whistles or Levi’s), or black straight leg cords (Whistles again) with a slightly cropped jumper, or a Breton top/cardigan.

I’m 5ft 6 and a size 10/12.

If we were given the okay to wear jeans I would probably wear Marks and Spencer boyfriend jeans in black. I have them in indigo. They are similar to a barrel leg and would go with lace up boots. They also aren't curve enhancing. I'm quite curvy but don't want to lift slim and shape in the office. Always with a belt and various tucked in tops. Love the breton and cardi idea. I have a breton, I am going to try under a cardi. Cropped sweatshirts, merino jumpers etc.

Have a look at M&S Sienna supersoft jeans in black They are straight and flattering.

I have a pair of 7 for All Mankind jeans, bought from a charity shop for less than a tenner, totally unworn. They're dark indigo denim, fitted and with a slight flare/bootcut. They're the only jeans I'd wear to work because they're dark and they're not a relaxed fit. I wouldn't wear light denim boyfriend jeans, iyswim. But I'm a teacher and our dress code is a little smarter than smart-casual.

Thanks, I've ordered a couple of pairs based on your suggestions.
So tucked in t-shirts/blouse and cropped junpers is def the way to go with them? Sad I'll give it a go hopefully it wont look as bad on me as I imagine it will.

I bought some indigo Uniqlo jeggings recently and I could live in them. Really soft and they look great for work.

I just bought the M&S Autograph Luxury Flared High Waisted jeans for work. I'd say they are more of a boot cut, quite slim in the thigh.

I think skinny jeans with a flowy blouse can look great if that’s your shape/style @Patienceandgrace. I am quite a pear so need a defined waist, and skinny jeans look terrible on my vast bottom.
