Long lasting perfume!!

Hi,

I love perfume but my skin seems to DRINK it and so the smell always disappears really quick. I'd love to have a perfume that lasts all day and even better lasts on my clothes until I wash them. I like most scents except anything too powdery/soapy, I am open to anything although I do love sweet, spicy and citrusy. (This may be part of the problem since I know citrus scents tend to evaporate quickly). The only perfume I have that lasts is Jo Malone and I can't really afford it anymore so won't be able to replace it. Does anyone have any recommendations for mid-price range (up to say £60) perfumes that you've ever had that have been super long lasting?

Perfume blogger here. In my 9 years of experience, here are some of the longest lasting perfumes I know.

4160 Tuesdays Sex Goddess, Oakmossery or Midnight in The Palace Garden.

Anything by Andy Tauer ( a bit spendy but a little goes a long way.

Ditto ^^ Tobacco Rose or any other perfume by Papillon Perfumery. (spendy but a bottle will last you soooo long)

Mugler Angel

Mugler Alien

Dana Tabu (spicy amber, cologne strength but lasts all day long also v cheap)

Lanvin Arpege- a classic aldehyde chypre, under £25 with HUGE staying power.

Cacharel LouLou

Avon Far Away Beyond- woody vanilla floral that's parfum strength and only £14.

Chanel Chance lasts all day

Also, perfume lasts longer on moisturised skin and I always spray clothes and hair too. It has been said that it can dry your hair out but I haven't noticed anything.

I’m the same, I find hair perfume/most better.

I've got Angel Muse and that lasts all day. Otherwise DH often asks if I'm wearing any....... and I always am.

I got him some Chanel aftershave for Christmas and the staying power on that is amazing. I'm going to look at their perfumes as I'm so impressed.

I find a squirt from a tester seem to last and last but if i actually buy it (or have it bought) it doesn't seem to last.

While musing about this recently i wondered, actually, if part of it is because when i squirt testers i tend to be quite heavy handed 'cos it's free, but when i own a bottle of £££ perfume i'm too penny pinching with my squirting and simply not putting enough on

Clinique Aromatics Elixir used to last though. Almost too well.

For me Chanel perfume and the one everyone always comments on Knowing by Estée Lauder - complete strangers stop and comment on the lovely smell

I buy the larger bottles and have sone still from Duty Free (!) - they were sealed and unopened and are fine

They are often on offer at my local outlet

Guerlain lasts well on me - try the aqua allegoria range for citrus

My very favourite perfume is Crystal Noir from Versace, it smells amazing and the scent lasts forever. It's a bit costly but I usually only buy it once a year but the scent lasts so long that there is only need to use a little

If it’s any consolation @ChillysWaterBottle I find that the newer fragrances from Jo Malone disappear really quickly regardless of layering scent with the body crème and being generous with it. I treated myself to Nectarine Blossom and Honey. I put it on in the bedroom and by the time I’m in the kitchen I can’t smell it and neither can anyone else. It’s now £102 a bottle! But the traditional ones seem to be fine (Lime Basil and Mandarin, Grapefruit, Pomegranate Noir). I remember when a big bottle cost less than 30ml costs now and I just feel £102 is too much to pay whether the scent lasts or not.

Chanel Chance lasts and lasts, but it was my signature scent in my twenties and now I'm bored of it, sadly. I used to get so many nice comments.

Tom Ford perfumes last incredibly well. But they're so eye wateringly expensive. I have a bottle of Fabulous at the moment and I love it so much but every time I put it on I wonder what I'm going to do when it runs out.

Depending on what type of perfume you like:
An edp will last longer than an edt which will last longer than a cologne
Anything with citrus or ozone notes won't last.
Anything with oudh notes will still be hanging in the air after the zombie apocalypse and will find itself the sole survivor along with 5 headed cockroaches. (Similarly, anything you try and don't like will stay on your skin for 6 weeks)

I tested something a few weeks ago which smelt fine for the first hour and then slowly tuned into wet dog/musty wellies and bugger me it was still there the next day after a shower!

I love strong scents and alternate between Chanel No5, Prada, Dior Poison and j'adore
I find No5 and Prada last all day but the Diors need a refresh in the afternoon so I carry small atomisers when I wear those

The new Estée Lauder luxury fragrance collection has some new technology to make it last 12 hours. I have Radiant Mirage and it does really last on skin & clothes. Boots stock all the variations & it’s on offer at the moment for £61. Sali Hughes reviewed the whole line on her Insta a while ago if you want an idea of what each fragrance smells like.

Calvin Klein eternity lasts forever and moschino fresh pink you can smell for days on your clothes .

Guerlain samsara, Guerlain L’heure blue, Chanel 5, Angel, Chanel coco noir.

I can still smell Gucci rush from 1998

The Nue Functional Fragrance is utterly lovely. So is Forest Lungs from the same house

Jo Loves White Rose and Lemon Leaves - layered with the body lotion , is still getting lovely comments at the end of the day.
