As per the title really, love a good cleansing balm so wondered which ones you really rate and recommend.
Have so far tried:
Elemis - lovely but a bit spendy. (Not against spendy recommendations btw)
Body shop chamomile- liked this a lot
Emma Hardie Moringa - meh, it was okay but I don't think it's worth the price point
Clinique - used to like this but I SWEAR they've changed the formula.

Intrigued by the M&S pure rose one but not tried it as yet.

Grateful for any recommendations or HG products!

This one is perfect, really rate it!

The rose m&s one is fab.

I like the Rituals cleansing balm a lot

Then I Met You is my favourite but more pricey.

DukeofEarlGrey · 26/01/2022 22:52

Oh, I came on to add the ones already on your list! I’ve tried loads and keep coming back to the Elemis. It is spendy but I think worth it - my skin loves it and I actually enjoy the ritual of using it because it’s such a nice texture and scent. I’ve just discovered the new naked version and am hooked.

Even more spendy is Eve Lom. I also like Clinique Take the Day Off but you have that.

CheapFoodShits · 26/01/2022 22:55

The No7 one (purple tub) is fantastic.

Missmollypolly · 26/01/2022 22:57

Dermalogica precleanse balm

MummytoCSJH · 26/01/2022 22:57

Physicians formula matcha 3-in-1 balm. Much preferred it to the farmacy green clean one - it really stung my eyes?! - and it’s a fraction of the price. Not drying, doesn’t leave your face feeing stripped, scent is there but isn’t too strong, you barely need any product and it comes with a small spatula. I love it! The elf holy hydration one is also nice for the price but the only downside is that it irritates my contacts for some reason. The PF one doesn’t bother them at all so that’s my preference.

There’s one called clean it zero (not sure on the brand??) that everyone raves about, I’ve yet to try it but haven’t heard a bad thing about it and it’s about £20 I think. May be worth a try if you don’t like the other suggestions.

Ichangedmynameonce · 26/01/2022 23:06

The m and s one is excellent

AprilLady · 26/01/2022 23:12

I’ve tried quite a lot, including Emma Hardie, Eve Lom, the farmacy green one mentioned above etc, and I keep coming back to Elemis. It’s often available at 25% or 30% off, which makes it more comparable price wise to other similar products.

daisyjgrey · 26/01/2022 23:18

I really like the oil based one from Beauty Pie, it's in a green jar, I can't remember the name of it for the life of me. Also the REN jelly cleanser.

MountainDweller · 26/01/2022 23:33

I recommend Oskia renaissance cleansing gel, which has a light balm texture. I use it like a balm and remove with a warm, wet cloth. Emma Hardie and Elemis are nice too. I have a sample of the REN one and found it a bit thick to apply, though I usually like their products (the rose cream cleanser is lovely). I have too many cleaners Grin

DukeofEarlGrey · 27/01/2022 00:50

Oh yes, the Oskia one is nice.

Does anyone else have different balms for different skin days? I like Elemis for everyday but Eve Lom if my skin feels dehydrated. Oskia is good in the summer or on oily skin days. I am a bit obsessed with balms Blush

Classica · 27/01/2022 01:49

My fave is the Clinique one.

Hane tried the M&S rose cleansing balm. It's good, but maybe it's just my nose but it doesn't smell of roses at all to me, more a eucalyptus type scent.

Kjr33 · 27/01/2022 07:00

Cheap and cheerful the ordinary squaline one is great does exactly what you need it to. Deffo worth a try.

multicolouredmittens · 27/01/2022 14:58

I love a cleansing balm. Recently I've been enjoying the Botanics one from Boots, which I only bought because it was quite cheap but it actually works surprisingly well. The smell is nice and not too strong.

I like Emma Hardie (love the scent), not such a fan of Elemis (doesn't feel like it's doing as much as some other products, and is expensive). I've got the Beauty Pie one and it's OK but isn't dramatically better than the Botanics one tbh.

tigerbear · 27/01/2022 15:02

The Inkey List Oat Cleansing Balm is lovely. £9.99

InTheNameOfAllThatIsHonest · 27/01/2022 15:50

I use coconut oil. The type you get from food aisles. I have been using that for over ten years. Doesn't break me our, doesn't clog my pores, doesn't leave me greasy, doesn't burn in my eyes, removes everything including false lash glue. I have tried lots of other products but nothing matches coconut oil for me...

LadyNell · 27/01/2022 17:41

I tried the small pot of Eve Lom, Elemis is almost the same I think smell as well. Not tried any others but might try the Bodyshop one next

LadyNell · 27/01/2022 17:42

I don't use it on my eyes too highly scented

Tinkletwat · 27/01/2022 17:46

I keep going back to Cleanse and Polish but will give that M&S one a go. The Body Shop camomile one made my eyes sting. My favourite was Lierac balm to oil but it's tricky to get hold of. Can't bring myself to spend so much on the Elemis one, had a few pots of the Emma Hardie and Eve Lom but the scent of the EL one gives me the boak.

NeedWineNow · 27/01/2022 18:37

I've regularly bought the Clinique Take the Day Off balm and rate it. I have tried the Elemis one but find that a bit drying for me, the same with the Body Shop Camomile balm.

What I have recently discovered, and love, is Aldi Pineapple Hot Cloth Cleanser. Doesn't irritate my sensitive skin and is great value for money.

Helen2385 · 30/01/2022 17:50

The Ordinary cleanser is amazing, it's a balm that massages onto dry skin, I take it off with a muslin cloth. I love it and such good value at £5.50 for a 50ml tube.

LittleLego · 30/01/2022 17:56

I love Elemis but find it a little too perfumed. I'm using the Drunk Elephant one at the moment which I'm enjoying and it's not too spendy compared to their other products.
Also for a budget option, beauty bay do one in their own brand for less than a tenner and it's really good for the money as is physicians formula which is very similar to farmacy

VerbenaGirl · 30/01/2022 17:57

Like Emma Hardie, but find the price point a bit too painful. Picked up some Lacura cleansing balm at Aldi today and looking forward to seeing what that’s like. Their Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish imitation is seriously good.

YouSetTheTone · 30/01/2022 18:53

I’ve tried:
Clinique Take The Day Off balm -it does the job but I don’t love the texture, feels a bit waxy to me.
Body Shop Camomile - ok but stung my eyes.
Dermalogica pre-cleanse balm - this is great. I love the scent, it cleanses my skin perfectly.
Elemis - I’m torn between this and the Dermalogica. But think this slightly edges it - I prefer the Dermalogica scent but the texture of this is so luxurious and I think it makes my skin glow ever so slightly more.
Eve Lom - I tried this years and years ago and would be curious to try again but a bit wary of all the faff - steaming face with muslin etc.
Drunk Elephant Jelly cleanse - meh.
